I think I'm going to go to the doctor with my foot. The last few weeks when I stretch out my right foot a pain spreads across the front of my foot and down into my big toe. Thankfully I have a GP visit card. Does anyone know if I was sent for an x-ray how long I'd be waiting for it and how much it would be?

(I know where the above come from now, thanks to the interwebs, but still no idea why she says ladies wot lunch.)

Yeah, my family has our own language style as well. I would well imagine them saying, "Ladies wot lunch" in pseudo-insulting-posh.

Charley-horse (said in an upperclass English accent) was one of ours. No explanation for it!

Isn't a charley horse what we'd call a stitch? But that's American. However there was Charley says, which was said in an upperclass English accent.

In our local hospital sometimes they will do it the next day, and as far as I can remember if your GP refers you for the xray, I'm almost sure it's covered in the 50 euro he charges. Could be wrong its so long since I've had one, but it's the case in accident and emergency, you pay the 100 euro and you don't pay for operations/X-rays after that

Wow the weather last night was mad! A friend on the other side of Kildare rang to say that his power was gone, and his girlfriend wanted to know the results of the x-factor :D She wouldn't believe it. She was in the background shouting "LIARS and laughing". She really is a lovely girl.

I was in debenhams on Friday. Their sale is great. This year the OH wants a belt and a wallet for Christmas. I guess I have to accept our time of buying special pressies is over and we're now in the "sensible gifts" time of our lives. I'll have to come up with something funny to get too, just to be not so boring. I'm going to steal an idea from the Christmas forum and make up a Christmas eve pack for both of us.

I was thinking this morning how content I am lately. I think I'm more broke than ever before, and because of my work situation I spend way too much time in my house, but I'm not working nights any more, I get to spend my time with dogs and when I'm home I'm taking pride in keeping the house lovely and having dinner ready for K when he gets in. I've even started baking, although I'm really bad at it so far. I never thought I'd be so domestic! I'm really very lucky I think.

You should be able to get an xray almost straight away. Different hospitals have different policies but generally you can walk in to radiology with your referral letter. Costs zilch with a referral letter.

Ha! Waterstones have TBBT boardgame. I'm going to get it for my father for Christmas I think.

There was a moment in the car with my brother when I mentioned getting our dad a TBBT present, and he said "Me too" and we both shouted at each other, "No you're not! I SAW IT FIRST!" Then we tentatively poked at each other and found out he was planning on getting him the Bazinga t-shirt, so we're all ok now. Not that our father will ever wear the t-shirt or play the boardgame. He just likes getting presents.

I'm hoping it costs nothing because it's been going on a few weeks and I want to make sure there's nothing wrong. Could be just muscular.

Thanks for the info guys. :)

Now I've got to ring Sky about the stuff that's going on with the Sky box.

The king of all cokes!! So glad all those american sweet companies in Ireland now sell it. There was a horrible few years of withdrawal between it being withdrawn here and them selling it again. When I went to Oz a few years ago I came back with about 10 bottles of it in my suitcase. :p
Yeah, vanilla coke is my crack.

I'm trying to look up videos on how to do an elevator pitch and keep getting suggested kitten videos. Damm youtube.
