    I wasn't sure how tonight was gonna go since my sleep has been dodge lately due to moving apartment and not getting around to paleogrokcaveman'ing out my room yet. I was pretty dopey even after a double shot coffee.

    Looked like it was gonna be a ****e night because my footwork on the snatches was awful all the way up to and including the 81kg. Weight feels comfortable standing out of it now though since I started doing heavy split cleans and I've no problem throwing myself under the bar to the slaughter anymore like I used to do on full snatches.

    I jerked the 2nd 105kg but it was one of those celebrate too early things and I rushed my recovery. I ended up going off balance and after a second or two of wrestling the bar had to drop it before putting out my elbow. Next time. I'm too used to jerking 100kg over and over. 105kg is the new constant now.

    Even got an ugly ass front squat pb. It still knows it's place though still 1kg under my powerclean. Ratios yo!

    Yeah not much pep in me this morning so happy enough to hit 80kg on the snatch. Not too bothered about the knee touch thing seems to happen only when I'm tired for the most part. I did it quite a few times on the warmup weights.

    After I missed the 100kg jerk I cashed out mentally and that was pretty much the session then.

    Powers were ok'ish. Started to get a bit sad then because I had no knee sleeves for the squats and I don't like squatting anything remotely challenging without them. On top of that I couldn't f*cking load the bar properly. Following that I had no straps for pulls either which I really hate. Thumb aids pretty bad afterwards.

    Useless. This week was originally meant to be heavy but since I was off last week Wayne changed it to light Monday, medium Wednesday, max on Friday. Moped around for a bit then reverted back to light session.

    I best unf*ck myself by Friday or it won't inspire confidence ahead of Cork.

    All the caffeines > man flu.

    Had a a double shot coffee to motivate myself to leave the house. Had one of those horrible monster coffee things when I got to the gym. Had another mid snatching when that ran out.

    Did the trick anyway. Happy with that. Gave the 85kg attempts a good lash but wasn't there today. Couldn't stand up with the first 107kg, caught the second one about a inch higher and just about managed to stand up with it. Head was melted by the time I stood up and missed the jerk.

    Attempted 3kg back squat pb but didn't stay tight enough on the way down and only got up about two or three inches. That absolute monstrous 125kg back squat will have to wait another day :rolleyes:

    Confidence for Cork still intact now after that but I feel like absolute crap now afterwards. Gonna eat and sleep the rest of the weekend now and try recover a bit and caffeine detox.

    Sat on my hoop all weekend. Feel slightly less sh*t and it doesn't look like it'll develop into full blown aids. Should hopefully be gone by Cork.

    My car also isn't feeling the best and I'm without it this week. This means I've to cycle everywhere this week, which works out at 90km. I'm no couch so I'm not elite enough to cycle that much without it affecting lifting so the top sets were hard going tonight.

    I think you might kill me. I'm not drinking on Saturday well if the weigh-in for Sunday gets changed to Saturday I might have a few famous last words. I was looking forward to making as ass of myself but with the f*ckers making me lift Sunday I don't really want to throw 10 weeks of hard training in the bin.

    Deep down I always knew it would end this way. I'll head out for a bit anyway, work ****ed up training the last two weeks so I'm less bothered about it than I was.

    I am the fatigue. Spent 10 minutes trying to setup the jerk box at the end to find out I setup it too high. Couldn't be bothered with it anymore so just went to the racks. The idea was to practice getting under jerks when I'm tired and don't want to do them in prep for a third heavy C&J in Cork. Failure. Will try again tomorrow.

    I'm terribly emo this week. I don't know what's wrong with me. I forgot how to lift. I probably overdid it last week. A self imposed one week coffee embargo before the comp probably isn't helping either. Anyways the plan for the rest of the week.

    Friday: Dick around with super minimal weights
    Saturday: Eat grapes
    Sunday: Get loaded on caffeine and lift stuff, heavier stuff than has been lifted previously.

    77/100 a f*cking sh*te state of affairs to be in and all the positive mental attitude in the world won't make any f*ckin' difference!

    Reader Advisory: Explicit Sadness

    Ugh things did not go well. Woke up feeling tired and not particularly motivated. This carried on to the warmups where I was sharing an emo platform with Ed. That was the theme for the rest of the day then.

    I got up to 70kg on the warmups and was sitting around taking it easy since I thought I was ahead of time but the microphone & speaker to the warmup area had gone dead. Somebody then ran up the hall calling my name saying I had 30 seconds to lift so had to run out and lift without getting a last warmup in. That f*cked me up a bit and I just about managed a wobbly opener.

    Yep pretty much forget I had a pair with the 81kg attempt and it wasn't close at all. Sorted myself out a bit for the last one at 82kg. Landed it, it was a touch forward so I let myself sink into a deep split to steady it. I thought I had it then but somehow lost it when I was starting the recovery. Damnit.

    First jerk was a bit wimpy. I still thought I made it but it was red lighted for pressout. Second lift was strong. I thought I got the last lift at 105kg with a solid jerk and was pleased with myself for a whole two or three seconds but I got red lighted for a double clean. I don't think I've heard of the term double clean being used before but what happened was I didn't rack the clean properly, elbows were slow to come around. The bar was touching my chest then for a moment until I kinda prop'd it up. The bar isn't allowed touch your chest so that's what I was red lighted for. Balls anyway. It was a bloody good jerk too!

    If I knew Cork better I'd have found the closet bridge and jumped off it. I'll just have to start cutting myself or something instead now.

    Right, anyway. I'll attempt to HTFU again from tomorrow with jumping straight back into training for the NI Open in 4 weeks. I'll sort myself out for that with solid sleep the week of the comp and no shenanigans because I want to take a punt at a 110kg C&J at that one.

    That'd be my thinking as well! I think it's in there for the same reason the press-out isn't allowed. Lifts look ugly when you break those rules and look pretty when you don't. That's about the height of it I reckon.

    That'd be my thinking as well! I think it's in there for the same reason the press-out isn't allowed. Lifts look ugly when you break those rules and look pretty when you don't. That's about the height of it I reckon.

    rock27 aka Phil was trying to get me to do a full prowler session but I wasn't in the mood for that type of thing. I did one just to see what it was like since I've never used a prowler before. I can see how they are good alright and will probably do some once NI Open is out of the way.

    Emo'ness starting to clear with some motivation beginning to creep in again.

    I'm gonna be following the same programming I've been the last few months but I'm making a few minor individual adjustments to make it more my own. Which will make me more interested/accountable and all that type of rubbish.

    1) Power jerks on the power day
    2) Split squats & Core on classic days.
    3) Programming based off 85/110 maxes and 125kg back squat. A plan sure to succeed.

    Went to 90% of my 'maxes' tonight.

    Died and was resurrected again over the weekend. Training was not fun but had to be done. I went with medium powers, light squats and suffering through the pulls.

    I decided to try out deficient pulls to see if they help me break the bar off the floor easier. It's the worst part of my lift because I gots no legz. I'll report back in a months time.
