Menacing looking sky to my north, I'd say it's going to burst soonish, I have noticed to increase in wind too.

On the DART between Connelly and Clontarf Road, amazing view for a few secs looking west toward the airport. Nice lowering resembling a wall cloud in the dark sky just to the west of Runway 10, St. Margaret's direction

Torrential rain in Rathfarnham, few distant rumbles of thunder

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 555 ✭✭✭cristoir

    Absolutely torrential here in Ranelagh.

Heaviest shower here in Dublin 4 this year.
Still going strong. Not a flash nor rumble. It's a sad feeling thinking nothing but rain will come from this.

Belting down in Dublin 4 for the last 10 minutes, look s like it's coming to an end soon on the radar

Just back from the airport! Timed perfectly for the approaching band and it turned into a gust front! Some rotation visible too with some needle funnels! Hopefully got some decent rotation on the video I took! .. Also did a pano of the gust front , hopefully I did it justice!!
Photos and video up later this evening! Got a nice shot too of the Coast guard helicopter flying into the blackness too right in front of the sun :) .. Surprised we didn't get any thunder!

Dont call them crap, every picture helps people who didn't see it to get a visualisation of what it was like.

Did any aircraft have to go around because of the weather that you noticed?

Here's that video I shot during my flight over Meath and Westmeath as the convection was developing this afternoon. Watch in fullscreen HD for best results.

Fantastic video Su Campu. It must not have been your plane I heard going over my house earlier as I don't think your flight path took you over me, unless you flew over on the way back.

Amazing video though. jimmynokia, I think you will find that Su Campu is already a pilot :p
