Hopefully not in that order. Rush and Louth are in the same direction.

Was up in Monaghan for the Rally School there on Saturday, done the Impreza half day experience. Was great craic and really learnt a lot about how to drive on a track.

    Here's a few pics:

****! just found out that the gti i was going to view today is a dsg... but WITHOUT the paddle shift :( Im sickened because I really wanted the paddle shift. Id imagine that would be a costly retrofit too??

    Any Toyota experts out there?

UK reg shows vehicle as a D-4D 2.0 TR with TR being the spec whereas when changed to paddy plates is showing up as an Overmount TR. Whats the overmount about?

Also, does anybody know where I could ge tthe TR spec for 2009 / 2010 handy ?

He says it in the AD in fairness, with that paticular car i reckon it would be worth buying regardless tbh

Yes, that would be my thinking also.....

Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure you need a new wheel as well. So you're looking at hundreds, and I've used them maybe 10 times in the 5 months I've had the car. I actually find it much more fun to use the stick to up/down shift as the paddles move with the wheel making them a moving target when you need to change gear. Proper annoying.

Ha yes thats what i am trying to convince myself but tbh i doubt i would be fully happy ya know?

Does anyone know which Peugeot 406's had a leather steering wheel in D8 guise? Ie prefacelifted ones from 1996 to 1999... In other terms has no horn button on the wheel.

Steering wheel is gack on mine and would prefer a nice leather one to replace it with :)

I actually like using the up/down on the gearstick you can pretend to be a 90`s touring car driver and make engine pop noises as you downshift :pac:

Really?! Do you use the paddles much yourself?

It's great craic, the prices seem expensive when you look them up but to me it was worth the price, was great craic.

I have had several tiptronics and none had paddles. I sometimes considered retrofitting, but at the end of the day nice as they are they are a gimmick. So many other more important factors to be making car purchases on IMO.

Shifting with the [tiptronic] gear stick is also more natural and normal than gear shifting on a steering wheel.

Some of the use from the Mondello school were going to go down and give it a shot. But then they got rid of the gravel so we didn't bother. Heard they are a good bunch of guys and its a fun day out.

Yeh, the gravel is gone which is a shame, it's still great craic though and is a very technical track, great for learning too, much improved my driving from the outset to the end.

Looking up the Mondello school now as I want to do it next. I see the prices have been discounted, do you now if this is permanent or just a limited time offer?

When you look at any of these driving coarses they always seem kinda expensive, loved the mondello one, want to do it again sometime.

Will def look it up I'd say it'd be great fun.

    Thanks

No problem, just to say the 325i was the best craic of the lot, might help you when choosing a package :D

I think it's a vrt thing, there's no reference to over mount anywhere except Irish dealers selling uk cars.

Re the specs, you could use autotrader on a used tr, or you could go onto toyota.co.uk and view past brochures going back about 10 years.
