I'm still having this problem and O2 are lost as regards it..

My Lumia 800 which I bought on contract from O2 is great. I love the Windows OS and everything with it (even the camera..!) but I have issues with MMS.

Now I have the Network Settings app. If I try to send (or receive) an MMS I always get the error "Sending Failed Try Again" and if I click the link it reappears instantly without so much as making an effort. This stops when I go into the Network Settings app, change my network provider to another that I just made at random and switch back again. The phone remembers this for an hour or so but then randomly forgets these settings again. I have to repeat the process over and over.

I know it's not a big deal but it's a pain. Anyone have any idea what it is and the solution to it? I've tried rebooting the phone which doesn't work. I'm tempted to go all out and do a full reset but I'd rather not.

Dunno. Never seen that before. When I was setting up my mums one I just used the network set up app for meteor and it did the trick.

Can't get my head around it to be honest. I find that there may be no point in my going anywhere with the phone as all they'll do is reset is and say "There you go. MMS work!" only for the same thing to happen a few hours later.

Leave the phone with them for a day and tell them to keep trying

Can anybody confirm that if they go into Marketplace and look at the Nokia Network Setup app it only gives an option to share?

If it only gives you the Share option, it means its already installed on your device.

But you can get an app called Reinstaller. I've had a few apps not install, and this app fixed that for me.

I mentioned in the WP7 thread that I had lost my E900 a few days back. Well I have since got a Lumia 800 from adverts. I am delighted with it. Really like it.

Just wondering if there is anything I should be made aware of since I'm new to it.

I have downloaded all the Nokia apps, most of which look good. From what I can see at a glance the Nokia music looks basically the same to the normal music & videos app?

Cheers, you people always very helpful.

    a. how can i unlock as i am on meteor,
    b. does anyone know anywhere cheap to replace glass, getting obscene quotes of 140 - 160

When you say she returned it to Vodafone, do you mean she had it insured?

Nothing really. Just plug it into Zune and check to see if there's any updates for it. If not :) just enjoy it ;)

We don't have Zune Music here. So Nokia music fills the gap. Lets you download podcasts of sort for free and buy music too. You can use that instead of the built in one. Though I find the built in one way nicer.

Hopefully once Xbox Music launches it will extend the availability to Ireland.

    Does anyone have one?

I used to be a big iPhone fan, then switched to Android (Galaxy S2 is my current) but now I want to try Nokias Windows phone comeback.

Anyone have one? What do you think?

    Phonesonline have it for €540.

Cannot be as good as Android phone or iOs phone, but still can be good to consider especially if you want a phone with long battery life.

Oh your wrong there. Lumia 800 isn't the best Windows Phone out there but its definitely can be just as good as alternatives.

Might not have as many apps as iOS but it has all the most popular ones.
Might not be as customizable as Android but instead it has a nice design and fast performance, which is a lot more than you can say for most Android handsets. I had the S2, S3, Sensation, Desire and lots of other top end Android handsets. I always love coming back to WP7

Though with WP8 coming so soon id hold out and not get the 800 or the 900 for that matter.

I got the latest update. Interesting flip to silence incoming calls feature! It fixes the sound glitch too. I downloaded the new creative studio but it wouldn't install, and I can't find the other two camera update ones, camera extra and nokia city lens...anyone had any luck with these?

Was beginning to wonder myself, is it even worth getting an 800 at this stage?

Mine is unlocked, country variant Germany. It says it's available for o2 in Ireland, but the other carriers are all waiting.

You just have to weigh it up. For a lot of people, it won't bother them not having wp8, no front face camera etc. It's still a great phone with a great OS.

I would say now is not the time to get a Lumia, with WP8 around the corner and no current WP7 being upgraded to it.

Also the Lumia is a step backwards compared to the iPhone 4/4S or the

    Galaxy S II.

I'd wait a bit longer, it won't be long till the new Windows Phone 8's are coming out.

Cheapest I could find. But you may have to pay a bit extra for postage back to Ireland.

Yeah, I've mentioned it can be good to consider as well but it isn't the best phone out there.

WP8 is interesting, but I do hope that it satisfy our expectation to what they have promise about its features.

Yeah I agree it makes more sense to wait. Any idea when the WP8s are due?

I had the same issue, enabling data connection in networ settings fixed it, although id imagine you have already tried it

Can anyone explain how to use bluetooth properly on the lumia 800???
I tried to send a pic to someone else through bluetooth, and couldnt understand at all, no option to send.... But I tried to send a pic to my laptop, i connected but still couldnt send a simple pic... But now, when I got a text, a womans voice started to talk on my laptop who the text was from, I didnt know what was happening.
I dont know if im making sense to anyone. But the help-how-to was no help to me other than to share my pic on facebook and twitter.

You can't transfer files via bluetooth with the Lumia. Might be a WP7 thing, I don't know.

The woman's voice is the text alerts thing, in message settings. I think it is set to come on by default whenever a bluetooth headset is connected, so perhaps your having your laptop connected to the phone turned it on.

You can't send music/pic files through bt.

As for the voice, windows phone got voice recognition built in, when its connected to Bluetooth headset it reads out texts and allows you speech to text handsfree. Extremely usefull in the car while driving.

You can switch in on and off in settings somewhere. Pressing and holding the windows button Or call button launches it.

Just got given this phone by a friend for free! Have an SGS2 but was always keen on getting a windows phone so can't complain. I'm on emobile and have extensively googled ways to unlock the phone. This includes me being willing to pay for it!! Just cannot find anything anywhere. Really has me perplexed. It's an o2 lumia 800.

Can anyone help me? I'd be very grateful!
