I used a rotary mop with Meguiars cutting compound and then polish and then wet look showroom car shine on the paint, then done all the chrome with wd-40 and the plastics with back to black, I was getting my new alloys (tyres done with wet look tyre shine) thanks to the Nissan Navara alloy wheel recall ... Its a 06 D and it could pass for a 11 D

Gave the car it's first proper wash today. It's so disheartening seeing all the cuts and bruises on your new baby. :(

Changed the broken pedal box if anyone else has ever done this before I salute you...

Got it recovered, then had an auto electrician go through it with a fine toothcomb. One immobiliser bypassed, and one alarm removed, still not starting!

    FTO or MR2 ????

FTO. Not entirely sure what is wrong, but auto electrician reckons starter motor has blown, due to a very very badly wired alarm.

Nothing fancy. Snow, bodywork solvent, Megs paint cleaner, AG SRP, shed loads of APC and the Karcher wet/dry.

Spent all afternoon in the sun cleaning my teg, my dad washed a jeep & a car in the time I washed mine lol. On my mobile so no pics now.

Apparently I'm a bad influence on him though, started polishing his accord to show him how well it looked and when he seen the result on one patch & took over to do the whole lot. Owes me a bottle of meguiars & micro fibre cloth now I'm not getting them back! Fecker! :p

Wants Honda mats now, any old mats aren't good enough for his car!

My car's paint correction is finished :D I was blacklighting each panel after correcting it, washed the car when I finished, dried it and applied another 2 coats of blacklight.

I AM WRECKED! ANd there's still some panels I'm not fully happy with. Main one is the bonnet but I'm not gonna bother further with it as I've decided to get it resprayed in the future.

To anyone who wants to spruce up their car and use about 30 hours of their life doing so, paint correction is for you ;)

    EDIT: pics tomorrow!

Feel that. I've done 2 in the past few weeks and now the pug is begging.

It's a killer but a great feeling once you've tidied up and it's there gleaming imo :)

Nice one. Hope you enjoy your first glimpse int he morning. Maybe you'll be lucky and have a bit of sunshine to make it better.

    Anybody?

Can't fathom that. Did the original bulb work ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,234 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

Yeah it did. My smds will light up but only just. Theyre canbus compatible etc so all should work. Its got me rightly confused. My astra has serious electrical mood swings some times

The problem is, I'm sick of the sight and sound of the D/A and sick of the smell of the polish even though it's lovely but I now want to do my sister's red polo! All I see is the swirl marks on it! I know it's only a Polo but I just want that feeling of satisfaction of a gleaming, defect-free panel!

Sunshine would be great but even if it's rain I don't mind this time, I'm certain I'll have biblical beading :D
