    Heres a sad reality:

Went to straighten my ladyfriends car (yaris) it went backwards into a tree. So we got out the dozer and dollies. New boot and bumper. Wouldn't fit at first but when straightened and pulled out it closes very well. Even sealed properly. Door gaps were restored to what they were originally. However there was a big gap between the boot and c pillar, still didn't leak. We couldn't finish the job because we need something like this to reach in an inaccessible place above the tail light:

As time is limited for her nct she has to go to a reputable panel beater. €€€s

It's really annoying that we did the bulk of the work and all it needs is a small push out with the tool above

You can never have enough tools ;)

Any link to the above tool...i'd like to see how it works out of interest.

Went to change the fog bulbs to the HID 3000k Yellows..unfortunately as alll MR2s ( I was foreworned) the screws round with rust..

I picked up a set of these a while for the task a while ago..but had no replacement screws for the fogs...so another days work.

I like the sealy stuff myself. I am after a Snap-On 3/8 Drive though, I have a Teng one at the minute and really like it but there's no other feeling like a Snap-On ratchet

I actually just got my first sealey torque wrench this morning. The thing is like a little tank, hard to imagine you could actually break it. I have some teng spanners and I have only ever managed to break one of them.

My tools are mostly Teng/Draper Expert and I've not had any problems but my main socket set is Sealy that I've had over 10 years.

On the problem with the McGard locking nut for the wheels on the Focus, Finlys in Naas say they have keys that will open 70% of the locking nuts so hopefully that works. Also they will charge €60 to heat the 4 wheel nuts, weld a brace to each and hopefully open them if they don't have a key, which isn't too bad I suppose.

It's a result. At least I now know where to go if I have any difficulties with mine. I've got a set of the backstards aswell.

Bora failed the NCT today on headlight alignment - aimed too high.

Stewie had them out I think.

Well, anything I'm aligning lights I just park a car up against a wall, make a mark, then bring the car to be aligned up and just align them off that.

If one of them is aimed ok that's do able but if they're both too high it's only guesswork really :)

Only a small thing but was bugging me to look over, see nothing then have to check my watch instead.

Had the day off and inevitably ended up mucking about in the garage at home.

I decided to tackle a storage space problem in the astra van, sounds strange but there is nowhere in a van for the little bits and pieces that you normally have in a boot but would just fly around in the back of a van. Couldn't use boxes or similar as the van is normally filled with dog cages.

So, I decided to take an angle grinder to the floor:eek:

Some wooden reinforcements and the cut out section fitted with hinges:

A bit of carpet so there is no rattles and, voilà, storage space for the aforementioned bits and pieces:

And you'd never know it was there:

Today I carried two 16 foot lengths of decking board in my car with a santa hat on the end to make them more visible.

Sadly, the Santa hat didn't survive.

I smoothed them off already but I'll get some of that rubber/plastic edging to tidy it up more.

Going to move my wet passenger floor talk overhere.

Just took out the cabin filter cover and indeed there's a crack in it, also water sitting on the crack. Would explain why it started happening after I changed the filter in the dark, lol.

Anywho, I'll just order a new cover.

Finally did a 1st job on the 145 QF.

Front left wheel bearing was proper shot, so I replaced that and did the dreaded 'list' :(

So next to do will be
    4 discs
    Rear pads
Both bottom front balljoints - can buy whole wishbone
2 front shocks - rears too probably
4 springs. The ones on it were cut by someone  idiot!

    And longer term
    Exhaust
    Tyres coming up soon.
