All those free drinks and no time for a dictionary. Such a waste of a fat young life. :(

What happened to the good ole days when all ya had to give a woman was a big juicy c*ck and she would love forever....and by that I mean at least time enough to shag her sister..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,760 ✭✭✭summerskin

Back home we didn't mind buying girls the odd drink as there was a code to it...

Bottle of Becks- up for sex

    Pernod- guaranteed blow

Rum and black- you can go up the back.

If they asked for anything else- rejection and walk away without buying the drink.

Ah Oldham and Manchester in the early nineties, what great, simple times.

Sure if that was all women wanted we'd marry our dildos and never leave the gaff.

Admit it. You perform simple arithmetic on your fingers and you think irony is what you do to your fella's shirts.

For the OP, dump her ass! Shes probably not totally lying, girls *do* get offered a lot of free drinks in clubs. All my girl friends and I could easily go out and not have to pay for a drink all night, but you'd have to at least chat/flirt a bit, and shes definately not letting on she has a boyfriend til its scarper time. If I accepted drinks from random lads in clubs, the boyfriend would have a hissy fit and rightly so-its not on, shows a total lack of respect for the person you're with and as much as a drink shouldnt mean you're up for it, its kinda nightclub code for 'Im interested!'.

A guy recently stormed off in a strop on me because I politely declined his offer of a drink. I said thanks but that I had already ordered one.

It's not for the drink or "the shift"

It's for attention and self validation.

Half of them yung wans already have a naggin in them before they go out.
I hate nightclubs that doesn't make me socially awkward.

Who offers to buy girls drinks as a chat up line sorta thingy?

I've heard female mates/housemates/gf's say they get bought drinks but where are all these lads that are doing it?

First they came for the socialists...

That's what I'd like to know, chums.

I was hoping to hear from some of you lads who are inclined to buy drinks for women in nightclubs and what it is that triggers you to go and buy her that drink.

Last time I remember buying drinks for women I don't know was when I accidentally tipped my drink, and instead of catching it managed to punch it across a table hitting all the other drinks on its way and soaking two girls on the other side.
I'm pretty sure they didn't misconstrue the drinks I bought them as any kind of social contract, at least not the type discussed here.

Totally depends on what kind of nightclub you're going to.

If I were in Coppers I probably wouldn't offer to buy a girl a drink immediately upon introduction. Girls there probably wouldn't like it, or it might be construed as a little presumptuous/ arrogant.

However, in a fancier nightclub or late bar, where a guy is introduced to a woman, yes, I think the custom is to say "would you like to have another drink?". I guess it's because in these places there's more of an emphasis in flashing money about

I would never accept a drink that was brought for me by some bloke, especially one I didn't know. I think its creepy. I'd be too worried he put something in them. When this happens I always send the drinks back. Had an incident in a club once where these blokes brought drinks for me and my mates, we sent them back, the guy sent them back to us with the waitress, we returned them a second time, then one of them comes over with the drinks & insisted we take them, he was really pushy and got annoyed with us when we said no, left them on the table and walked off. It freaked us out. My mate Tessa went into the toilets with them and poured them down the sink, then we left and went some place else. We haven't been back to that club since.

I don't accept drinks from guys I've just met, it makes me feel a little like I'm being bought or something.
Some guys take it very personally and can get quite nasty if you don't accept though.

Which begs the question - what are wimmin doin in a nite club if they are not on da pull? Are they just there to attract male punters in? Sounds like a conspiracy to me - You always hear of wimmin free in but never fellas - Its discrimination I tell you!

Why shouldn't they go to a club if they're not on the pull?
