If anyone know Opel they'll know that the standard gearstick/handbreak gaiters are crap and become horribly worn and tatty especially around the 70k mile mark.

So took the black torn ones out and fitted new leather ones to match the colour of the car :D

Fitted wind deflectors which have been sitting under my bed for the best part of 2 months!...

I've a limited edition spoiler, facelift headlights and tail lights for my car sitting in my sitting room for the last three years! I always seem to have to do stuff for others and my own stuff gets forgotten about.

    ♪ ♫ O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum ...

Yes, my dash lit up like a Christmas Tree yesterday, the dreaded triple bar icon on the multifunction display, and the traction/abs warning lights on. Generally, that's not a good sign. Checked gearbox position sensor, grand, checked wheel speed sensors, grand, checked reluctor rings on the rear shafts, rusty but grand ...

Plugged in Star Diagnostics and it told me I'd a brake light switch fault. Took the brake light switch out, checked it, no probs there - went checking the brake system and wouldn't you know it's always the stupidest things - both brake lights were blown, and there was some sort of crappy signal feeding back through the canbus due to the unique way Merc built the wiring loom. Two new bulbs, all lights off! Did a reteach of the gearbox and clutch while I'd the Star Diagnostics on it, and enabled soft touch indicators I never knew the car had.

Got it back from the garage where it has been for the last week and a half getting a re-spray. Looks like a new pin!

Gave my car its winter wax today.

    meguiars wet wash.
    " carnauba wax.
back to black on plastic splitter etc.
t-cut mettalic and compund on car park scratch.
    tyre dressing.
windolened the windows, hoovered and cleaned the dash with dash shine stuff.

hopefully going to buy 18" sri alloys tomorrow. has anyone bought from kingdom alloys before? gonna drop it on eibach sportlines if i get the 18".

    Good job on the car.
    Looking well.

Are the Sri alloys S/H ?
How much are they looking for?

Just be careful with them.. I don't like the looks of the front passenger one on your car :o

As we are on the Wheels topic

    Today I washed my wheels.
Treated them to Wolf's chemical Deironizer > Nice purple color running off the fronts. Nothing much off the rears.

    Rinsed them,
Sprayed them with Very Cherry wheel cleaner and gave them a rub of a detailing brush.
    Rinsed again.

    A quick shot of Tardis.

2 Coats of Chemical Guys Rim & Wheel Guard

1 coat of Meg's Endurance Tyre Gel.

Rotated wheels front to back.. Looks like a pair of Hankooks for the front in the next few weeks.. Almost to the worn blocks now.
And of course.. No pics taken..

Today I picked my car up from Nissan Doctor with it's two new injectors installed. Car hadn't started in weeks and had got fairly grubby so I gave it a wash and hoover.

Today I plan to fit standard height shocks and springs to the front, a la NCT.

It's going look horrible... (Debatable that it already does :P)

I always have my phone on charge because the battery's on them are so crap nowadays. I have a USB port in place of the cigarette lighter so this is in the perfect spot now.

I did somthing stupid to my car tonight, I reversed into a metal bar set in concrete, dunno what the purpose of that bar was but my bumper and boot is fairly damaged as a result of hitting it. Vertical dent from the top of the bootlid right down to the bottom of my bumper. Luckily it's somthing I can fix myself but still it's a lovely bit of damage for such a mild hit. Observation fail so I wont defend myself too much other then I'm p!ssed off:mad:

I think the purpose of those bars (usually low enough so you don't see them in the mirror) is that unsuspecting motorists reverse into them. That's why they're usually re-inforced steel set in two feet of concrete.
They kind of go along with tax on fuel, getting rid of parking spaces, speedbumps, useless traffic islands on the road, nonsensical speed limits, etc...
All along the lines of How Dare You Drive a Car!;)

€825 :(. Cheapest it's ever been, but still a lot for a 28 year old. The joys of driving a car in a high insurance bracket!
