Changed the driveshaft, it's actually alot easier than I thought, although I had to buy a set of splines, I think I pretty much have every tool that one could have access to now, lol.

€24 euro for the full set, not a bad deal I reckon.

    Golf drives perfecto again :)

Gave the car a sand down with 600 grit.

Also, to my surprise/annoyance/delight the over spray on the windows etc. came off with a stanley blade. (Annoyance because it annoyed me for ages and someone told me it wouldn't come off).

Also drained out a cool bit of the coolant and put in a half a litre of antifreeze.

Getting new glowplugs and possibly a new battery for the winter months.

Also ticked off everything on the list bar having to fix a bit of the subframe. Will be ready to be re-tested then.

    Happy!

What capacity is the coolant system on the Golf? Would a bit more than 0.5l be needed to be sure of adequate protection?

they got a bit of the vinyl and rubber care but was running out so didnt go for the shinny finish.

Meguiars hot shine is good for an intense shine but their endurance gloss is better for lasting. It takes a bit longer to apply properly though.

cleancar.ie used to do a tyre shine gel cant remember the name of it Very Berry something like that. Its messy as hell to put on and store but gives super finish and lasts quite long as well. Im too lazy to go out to the shed to see what the proper name is sorry!
