dunno where else to put this, but my friend posted this on fb and thought it was worth sharing.

AE for PC for £7: http://www.g2play.net/store/Super-Street-Fighter-IV-Arcade-Edition-Retail-CD-Key.html

they only provide the CD key, you'll still need to get a copy/iso. g2play are legit though, i've bought a bunch of keys off them with no problems. i understand if this is kind of gray-area though and is removed.

Google searched g2play.net and I can find nothing but negative things about them: Stolen Keys, non-refunded money, keys linked to banned accounts etc etc

Going to stay away from this one.

I know a good few people who've used g2play with no problems for Blizzard games, I'd say you're getting the vocal minority there Uber. That said I think I remember someone I know using it, getting a bad key, and getting a refund as well, so caveat emptor.

Another dev log, no more changes for characters.

I guess there's no more then.

I've only seen the dev log linked on Srk and it has no changes :(but it does say this:

"»This announcement is not related to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

Hmm. Once NY Comic Con starts a lot of new information will be coming out, so please make sure to keep your ears to the ground and stay alert! Also make sure to follow the official Street Fighter community twitter account, @ SF_Community, for the latest information!"

Gotta keep the hope alive..... :D

Mostly focuses on SFxT but there is a brief section AE2012 which I will qoute in full:
Super Street Fighter IV AE Ver. 2012

Moving forward, we announced the release date for Version 2012 of Super Street Fighter IV AE. The Japanese arcade version will be released on December 2nd, while the console version will be ready on December 13th via digital download. Of course, this update will be provided free of charge. We’re bringing this to everyone who owns SSFIV AE. After the title update goes into effect, the normal version of SSFIV AE will no longer be playable, so please enjoy your current version while waiting for the new version to appear!

By the way, your PP/BP stats will carry over to the new version!

Heh, guess they screwed up so bad with AE, they rightly want to bury it with the update. That and I might as well as play ranked again as PP and BP are NOT being reset with the update ( that is surprising, imo )

Still no news on a third round of changes for the rest of the characters. Guess I can give up on that hope.

Yes they want to keep the 7 new Guile nerfs a secret until you get your hands on the game. :P

Interview with Tokido re SF4 2012:

Silly as it might seem, top-tier Sakura could be enough to get me interested in SF4 again.

I call bull on Adon being top-tier.

The only "buffs" are to his focus attack hitbox (so it doesn't whiff vs. some crouchers) and close U1 :pac:

Everything else is the same, or nerfed. So, considering he was barely average in Super/AE...

I think that what Tokido said can be losely translated as 'I don't think Adon is top tier but i have trouble fighting him so i'm going to say he's top tier so they nerf him or at least don't buff him' same as the 'oh Sagat is terrible, he has this problem and this problem' translating as 'i wish i could play vanilla Sagat's broken ass again'

I loled when i saw Cammy above Makoto and Zangief above Akuma on that tier list :P

Gief suffering from Honda syndrome imo, he has a couple of 7-3 match ups against **** characters which shoot him up the tier lists. He has way too many bad match ups against tournament viable characters to be considered A tier

  • Moderators Posts: 5,599 ✭✭✭Azza

    Does he?

He looses to 4 characters in S, A and B tiers.

    Seth, Akuma, Sagat and Chun-Li.

Granted these matches are probably the worst for any character in the top half of the cast but thats offset somewhat by the fact that he beats the twins and goes at least even with Fei-Long.

He beats Viper, Cammy and Makoto in A.

He would beat Adon, Balrog, Bison and Sakura in B and at least go even with Ken.

I'm imagine outside S Tier characters, everone in A and B tier would have at least 3 bad match ups.

Without knockdown on ex gh he lost so much, so much so i think he loses to anyone with a decent projectile now, i don't think it's even with fei tbh, fei has good escape options and standing rh is great against gief. I don't think yang is that good for him neither.

Gief owns Adon very very hard, basically the only thing you can do is zone him out...with Adon...he can SPD most Jaguar Kicks on HIT, you cant use Jag tooth as a mixup after it's blocked block or you eat an SPD, someone with good reactions can SPD his st.RH and Lariat beats it. Getting close enough to him to land ultra 2 is a serious risk of SPD and the only thing you can use u1 on is Lariat and if they're in the range to use lariat u1 generally lands the first hit and goes over his head...at least 6.5:3.5 to gief

I don't think gief beats makoto, viper, cammy or really anyone to be honest, all you need is a couple of good normals and a good air to air and you should be able to own gief.

    Character is super free.

  • Moderators Posts: 5,599 ✭✭✭Azza

Viper has no good normals, she no footsie tools and is rubbish air to air with her angled normal jump.
Lariat shuts down burn kick mix ups for free.

Cammy and Makoto are characters that need to be close to do damage and implement there standard game plan. Unfortunantly for them thats where Gief is strongest.

Gief also has solid footsies. S.MP and Cr.LP buffered to Ex.GH are excellent counter poke tools.

Didn't feel that free at inferno.

    Well maybe a little.

I'm calling it an 8-2 matchup.

Adon just so few good tools he can use vs. grapplers with their 1f mash 360s.

st.MK, st.LP, cr.LP: these are the only safe tools you have left -- a high, non-cancellable move, and jabs.
cr.HP is okay to throw out sometimes.
    cr.HK has no range.
    cr.MK has no range.
    st.HK is too risky.

And all his specials are rendered unusable.

Yh that match is really bad for adon, i sympathise kiki.... adon really has no tools at all vs gief.

8-2 is generous imo, I'd be leaning towards 9-1 myself.

    11 - -1 tbh
