not sure if anyone here is in Canada and looking to buy this but I got this reply from Gamestop here today:

"The current release date for Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge is 10/20 in the US. At this time we have no information on a Canadian release. Keep in mind release dates are set by the manufacturer and are subject to change at anytime without notification. We recommend keeping a watch out on our website for any updates to the product."

Annoyed cos the distributor has been banging on about the 20th being the North American release date when maybe they should be saying "USA" .

so maybe a stupid question but will a game bought in Ireland and sent to Canada work on a Canadian xbox? (i expect it will...)

No you can edit every player bar certain modeled players ala Carter/Nonu etc

i bought NCAA football for PS3 from a US site before and it worked fine on my console but I remember reading somewhere that this isn't the case for XBOX360. Why not order it from the states? cheaper shipping too

Canadian customs are pretty strict and anything ive ordered from US gets pinged for 13% customs and they add a handling charge of another $5 or so. plus the $15 shipping, the cost quickly goes up. At least from Ireland my brother can stick it in an envelope and write 'gift' on it and it'll pass right through!

thanks for the note though on the xbox.. he sent me games before and some worked, more didnt. strange.

This game is delish. I'm finding the difficulty levels absolutely perfect too. Scraping wins against teams like Munster is definitely realistic.

The only bad thing is that if the opposition team are winning at 80 minutes they won't kick the ball out, they'll continue play. I've won 2 games like this now, scoring in the 90th or 100th minute from just picking and going.

I'm having a better time of it when I offload rather then outright pass. Passing is a bit mad, the players run the strangest lines and there are so many dropped balls. I feel like Sonny Bill.

Your not as constrained as you are in RWC. Your players run lines which can be bad or good. Passing is difficult to the extend you have to think about how you have your player lined up. I like it. It's not perfect but it's certainly the best game of rugby out there.

It also looks very nice during the replays just wish they had a playback feature.

You can edit players that are on the Irish team for example. You would have to spend endless hours turning them into the players you want them to be. Stats, apperance, name etc.

You cannot go to edit squads and put Cian Healy from leinster onto the Ireland team! You have to go to the Ireland team, select one of the "made up" players who is completely different and change him to Healy. This would involve either writing down all Healys stats, appearance settings etc and then changing the Irish player. Or just winging it yourself.

Either way its alot of hassle and time consuming. It was not made clear on here imo either. I was under the impression that the irish team et all were fake players but you could simply change the roster and select the real players......you cant do that.

anyone else finding the defence a bit iffy?
letting alot of soft tries in because I cant tackle or select certain players or the FB...

also using the Ireland team really grinds my gears not knowing who is who....

too bad Mcfadden isn't in for Leinster either,
otherwise pretty good! miles ahead of rwc !

Wrong again. Every player in the Irish squad is their real life counter part expect in name and in sometimes appearance. The Irish 13 is called O'Connor and is rated 90 something wonder who that could be.

You select the full back by pressing LB and RB at the same time. To select the defender closest to the attacker, press B.

Just got it going with PS3. If you google the project novo the forum page tells you where to look for an xbox version.

Rugby challenge is v. good, commentary not great but most of the other flaws are based on the players which can be fixed (like Strauss and Nacewa being very poor for Leinster). One thing that stands out though is the lack of an offside rule.

Images getting cut/stretched, it's very strange. During the pre game loading, it also happens to the Sidhe logo among other things.

yeah I know the buttons, the fullback one isn't working for me, also the only way i seem to be able to switch player is to press b, I can't choose someone further down for whatever reasons,
probably the same reason my players will not bind in a maul or when I win an opposition lineout the ball gets stuck to the ground :rolleyes:

I think the off side players cant be selected. I noticed that a little X appears underneath them. Im not sure what happens when you're controlling the player that's offside but they probably didnt want there to be penalties every 2 seconds.

maybe start lists who playing the rc and what is being played on
pc,xbox or ps3 ,that way players can find each other and play each other,if game good enough ,maybe start a league or irish something
just a idea
I Mod on counter-strike source and team-fortress 2
i see if they want to setup a rc server for pc users

There are 50 players on the Irish Squad and I have struggled to get them all and know who they all are. No idea how I will know who is who in the England/Wales/France/Scotland/Arg/Italy

Any body got these done or have tips on how to know who is who? Or is there a spreadsheet?

I just used the last match day 22 for each team. Didn't bother with the full squad of players. Lads don't get injured enough for the need to change loads of players.

Any recommendation in terms of make/model? I wouldn't know where to begin re graphics cards. My budget would be €100-€150 say.

whats the watts on your psu - power supply in watts 500watts.600wts or 1000 watts
is your pc custom or manfacturer ?

Check on your power supply in the machine. It should be labelled. If not then im not too sure...

Use change player, you will find the player you created under the "no competition" competition, I think its called.

Gamestop in jervis centre - about 8 left. Just in. 4th place i tried. Hmv have said they have not had any at all

Better be worth all this hassle......

Yeah.. I made the boo-boo of 'removing players' from Leinster that are no longer signed. So now I don't have enough space, don't want to swap out players I already have...

I just installed the project novo, which has reset everything, so I'll use the 'change player' function... So word of advise to anyone else.. DON'T REMOVE PLAYERS
