Yes blue hands. The small screws around the edge are the hour markers. Automatic with the rotor having lots of little fake diamonds on it :o (not too visable thankfully)

Bought off ebay, wanted something a bit different, also available in gold, bronze and black

This one arrived all the way from Lima, Peru. Like the design.

This Tag just arrived today, but unfortunately I've immediate buyer's remorse. It's just a little too small for my wrist at 38mm (plus the strap needs an extra link), so I might just see if I can move it on or swap it on adverts.

Sorry to read that Eoin. Did the buyer supply all the links?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,258 ✭✭✭✭Eoin

Not sure if he did or not, it's a few years old. I tend to need extra links even on brand new watches though.

I don't even mind getting another link (or even a different bracelet) , but 38mm is just that little too small for me - that extra 2mm on a 40mm watch seems to make all the difference.

It's not a huge deal; I'll hold on to it and wear it, it's just not what I was hoping for. The Tissot PRC200 I got recently (for just a little less) feels a hell of a lot nicer, and looks much smarter on the wrist.

    Not a bad price for a Chrono. I assume it's a quartz?

If you put 400 with it I will give you a tag indi 500

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,258 ✭✭✭✭Eoin

Yep, quartz. Happy enough with the price and all that, though it is towards the top end of what I'd like to pay at the moment.

I already have 4 other Chronos, and it just doesn't do much for me. Quite disappointed, but now I know to get a 40mm watch at least - and probably something a bit different.

I really appreciate the offer, but I can't really afford to put more money again towards another watch.

I really, really like that type of Tag though - that one would definitely something I'd wear.

Sorry about the bad photo. This strap was originally for the old Soviet Vostok I'm getting but it's going on my current Vostok for now as I can't stand those plastic "Straps".

They were a soviet watch company (historical box ticked)
    Cheap (Er... that box ticked)
    Good quality (Same again)
Looks good in my opinion (Again, tick's the boxes)

Hey all, first time poster in the forum here. Been thinking about getting a new watch recently, stumbled across this forum and then naturally enough ended up getting a Vostok! See the link, looking forward to receiving!

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/VOSTOK-RUSSIAN-AUTO-AMPHIBIAN-DIVER-WATCH-0640f-NEW-/120769732372?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1c1e6fdf14#ht_2169wt_1139

I have a question. I particularly wanted one with a rubber strap from some of the comments am wondering if the stock one coming is going to be crap? Thinking I might go pre-order another before the watch arrives if that is generally the case.

To my knowledge Amphibias don't come with rubber straps ex works, only bracelets (or perhaps the pseudo-leather strap). So this rubber strap is most likely aftermarket ...that could be good or bad :D

I'd wait until you have it on your arm. Worst case scenario it'll have to do for a few days until a better one can be bought.

Put brown leather shoes on my SBDX001 Marinemaster :

Not sure about this look...the 20 mm strap may be too narrow for the watch...a notched 22mm might be better.

lol yep. The "cheaper one" isn't a casio... and interestingly seems to be 0.5-1.0 secs faster per hour... that could be about 5 minutes fast over the month

You try explaining that to the TSA when they have you bent over the table......I can see it now:

"Please sir, this is not a Casio F-91W, it just looks like one"

TSA Agent: "Sir, your watch clearly reads Casio F-91W on the face"

"But sir, its NOT a real one, it has been modified"

TSA Agent: "Sir, why did you modify your watch, what could be the possible reason for this, it is a $10 watch...WHY MODIFY IT?"

"Sir I just like watches, especially 80's style digital watches, I didn't modify it myself, someone else did"

TSA Agent: "Why would someone else modify this watch sir? Who did this modification?"

"I don't know, it was just delivered to me like that...."

TSA Agent: "You are aware sir that all passengers travelling to/within the USA are closely monitered and your possession of Casio F-91W is an indication to us that you may be trained in bomb making?"

"No sir, I didn't realise that, honest I don't know how to make a bomb"

TSA Agent: "Well sir, your possession of a modified version of a terrorist related tool would suggest to me that you are not telling me the truth, now if you would lean over the table and relax this will be far less traumatic for you........................"

 ... This will be the look on your face as the TSA Agent goes about his business.

LOL, It could be far far worse to not have a terrorist watch than actually have the real thing.
