    Must check that out.

Got a similar app for goals, sounds a bit like the ESPN goals one.

    Its called soccerpulse.

Only briefly tested it, looks like someone manually makes a directory of matches and goals and links them into online videos.
Doubt it'd be as good as the ESPN one. Tried and failed to get that last year.
    Still, better than nothing.

It shows all the goals from 5.15pm onwards on Saturdays.
Digital Spy are saying that it will go free to all eligible before the start of the season.
ESPN has signed an integrated sponsorship agreement with Bet365 that will allow users of the ESPN Goals mobile app to place bets on football action.

Earlier in the month, the Disney-owned broadcaster announced plans to make ESPN Goals free to all users, offering near-live video footage of all action and goals from the English Premier League on mobile devices. The app will be funded by adverts and sponsorship.

Ahead of the start of the new season this weekend, Bet365 has agreed to become the exclusive betting partner for the mobile application. A Bet365 "bet now" button will be added to the live scores pages of ESPN Goals, directing users to the Bet365 service to place bets on football games.

Bet365 will also have a branded presence on the app loading page, plus rich-media banners throughout the app's various sections, such as match previews, fixture lists and weekend roundups.

Short Bet365 video ads will also run as pre-rolls around the app's video clips of goals and highlights, plus around the weekend roundup videos.

Alan Fagan, the group director of advertising & sponsorship sales at ESPN, said: "ESPN has a passion for serving fans and a world-class ability to deliver value to advertisers.

"Our arrangement with Bet365 demonstrates our ability to offer brands integrated, innovative and relevant advertising solutions, connecting them with football fans whether its on the TV screen or mobile device."

Before the start of the new Premier League season this weekend, ESPN Goals will become available at no cost to football fans via Apple iTunes, Android Market, Nokia's OVI Store, the Blackberry App World and Windows Phone Marketplace.

ESPN will offer live TV coverage of 23 Premier League games in the coming season, starting with Newcastle's clash against Arsenal on August 13.

There was an unofficial one that you need to pay for if you actually want to do anything.

Not as good as an app but m.fantasy.premierleague.com says it will be available before kick off on Saturday. They're cutting it tight!!!

BTW if anyone has an English SIM Card (the Sim does not need to be live, only so Android can read the country code from the SIM) you can download "ESPN Goals" for free for the next while. It was £3.99 a month last season or £30 for the season.

    http://www.espn.co.uk/espn/sport/site/goals.html

EDit: oops should have read the previous post on this subject, apologies

Used that last season. It was ok. I just thought there might be an app out for it. Cheers

Is there any way of getting this in Ireland?

You can get it, but it wont work properly. i.e. no videos. So it doesn't really matter.

So even if I open a UK itunes account it won't work will it?

Wonder if they will release it in Ireland or is there some issue with rights?

I think you might have a bit of difficulty in downloading apps on a UK iTunes account for an android phone... :pac:

It's also available on itunes, as an iOS app too. It just wont work in the Rep of Ireland. So it's useless trying to get the app.
Mind you, now that I have it I find it to be a great app. There's a minute by minute ticker and team line-ups in the app too. Useful for Fantasy Football to see if any of your players are playing or sitting on the bench.

I watched some goals on soccerpulse there last night. Not as good as the ESPN goals app would be if it worked but its better than nothing.

It has a lot more leagues than just the EPL too.

This has probably been asked alot but I'll ask again....

What is the best app for getting the best out of your battery, explaining what options to use to improve battery and what compromises to use if you need certain functionality on your phone etc.

There are alot of options on the phone and I'm not sure what I need on/off.

There really is`nt any apps out there for that, yeah there are battery calibration ones and what not but the best thing you can do is use your phone the way you want to, by what ever means then you`ll know how much an app consumes, adjust usage from there.

There`s no use in trying to save battery from not using appa to there full, no point in having a smart phone then.

The main things you should look out for battery consumption are of course the ROM it self, then modem and finally your kernel, all can be changed and tested to see how they fair on the battery life.

There was a stage I did try minimise battery use by having little to no widgets/sync accounts and I even themed the whole phone with a black and white theme, but I was kidding myself...

I'm not looking to go minimalist, just save battery life where it is possible to do so without a huge effect on functionality.

Can anyone suggest a good Twitter app? I'm using the official one, but you can't seem to view replies to tweets. Like when you're online you just click the tweet and you can view all the replies. There's a good few twitter apps out there, which one is the best?

I need to know what Stephen Fry is having for lunch!

A lot of people rank Plume as the best.
    Tweetcaster is highly regarded too.
I always keep the official one installed too cause I like the push notifications :o

Juice Defender/Ultimate Juice I suppose. But be careful with it. I know it exacerbates a WiFi issue on my Galaxy Ace.

I've only tried Twidroyd and the Official App. Twidroyd can check for tweets in the background, and will notify you if a new tweet comes in.
