    not possible
    why turn off anyway?

I want to save as much battery as possible....I know you can put it into airplane mode but would prefer totally off.

The difference would be practically nothing. Hell, even dumb-phones use a tiny charge when they're "off" to run their internal clock

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/boardsie-enhancement-suite/

    Chrome/Edge/Opera: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/boardsie-enhancement-suit/bbgnmnfagihoohjkofdnofcfmkpdmmce

    Fair enough.....

Anyone know any music app or sepearet app that will allow one to use an iPhone headset fully with volume up\down, call answer etc. as lets face it the stock ones that come with the Desire HD and most HTC are so so crap!!

Same, all Nokia's seem to able turn fully off yet alarm rings??

Anyone using iPhone headphones with a music app on Android and have volume up/down working?

    Cheers,
    M

Even when the battery was dead the alarm would still come on

Is there a barcode scannor that works for irish products

I googled "android auto on" and the results will show anyone willing to look that android OS distinguishes between on, radio off and phone off. Blackberry, replaces off with hibernate to improve start up time and Nokia/Sony "off" does not switch off the basic OS stack and clocks, enabling the magic switch back on for an alarm.

Not trying to be funny but turning it off ya may aswell have a welly. Does the same thing except the welly be more useful than a phone that's turned off

I get what you are on about trying to save battery by turning off because lets face it these smart phones are a beast on juice I cant find anything to turn on your alarm from off but if you install the 3 following apps it should give you extended battery life

    1 memory booster lite
    2 battery booster
    3 hd rare black wallpapers

these worked great for me using a samsung galaxy s running froyo 2.2

before I got a day out of my battery with constant use including bluetooth and wi fi these three apps combined have given me an extra half day on top

Just set it to default and it'll save your battery, the free version is fine but doesn't give much customisation or location profiles.
The paid version needs a little input, I've mine set to turn off all data connections ans silence at night and limit it to sync every 15mins only. When You turn on location profiles it takes a few days to train it, it'll then turn on wifi when I'm at certain locations. It does this training without u needing to input anything, it just takes note of where u use wifi etc.

Looking for an app to do location profiles (All in the aid to save juice!!) and have the free juice defender version at the moment, but would something like tasker do a better job of customising ones profiles?

    Thanks

    W.

Was thinking about making an app for this. Not sure how much general interest there would be though. Should be a nice simple app to do.

True :) I was thinking you could have a history feature and maybe notifications of delivery / failure though. Might be something I could use as an excuse to learn background services.

Any music app recommendations? I'm using the stock Desire HD app but the widgets are branded and have links to the stupid Vodafone stupid music store.
I've had a look through the thread but have only seen recommendations for Power amp, can't say I'm a fan...

Anyone recommend a good text message app?

The messaging on Samsung Europa is hoorendous.

No way to forward sent messages, plus clunky setup.
