Oh, by the way, (EuropeanSon, take note here) I will still be giving out yellow and red cards for trolling and thread-spoiling. This thread is for people who are actually following the show. It's not for haters to come in and take the piss.

My deepest and most sincere apologies for posting my opinion on a discussion board. I'll make sure not to do that again unless my opinion conforms with the masses, in order to avoid causing any further uproar. :P

A lot of them sounded really autotuned.
I much preferred the auditions without the audience, I don't think the series really gets going now until Judges Houses.

a friend of mine was telling me that.. they are.

That's all I have to say about this TV show.
    AUTO TUNE.

Goodbye, I will probably never post in this thread again, I can't stand it tbh :P

I love X Factor but jayz last night was the greatest loads of rubbish?
The amount of ad breaks , barely any auditions shown , the talent was non existant... Terrible start to the show?

I was in the Dublin audience and there were about 5 or 6 really talented people - 10 times better than the ones shown last night? I hope they all get shown because they edit them down so not all auditionees are shown on tv!

    Yay X-Factor thread!

The first auditions were a bit of a let down, it all felt so staged! It's like they're not even trying to make it look real anymore...

I've always preferred the live shows though. Come back Dannii! All is forgiven!

    I miss Dannii too!

I hate the live shows though, all these talent shows are just merging in to one tbh. They all have the same format. I don't see how the American X-factor is going to be any different from American idol apart from the judges take a few contestants under their wing.

Having said that I don't really care, I still love it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

Yep I don't get how AI and AXF are going to both be on at once, they're so similar!

I miss the old format where it was just the judges and the singer, no backing tracks or autotune. Whenever the judges got the giggles I did too :pac:

My sister's friend had this on her facebook wall, and she played it. We both were laughing our arses off at how INCREDIBLY fake it is! I know people were saying there was autotune, but WOW...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,109 ✭✭✭QueenOfLeon

So which one was on, Dublin? I'm afraid I'll be back into the whole XFactor thing this year to, for shame :o I think the live auditions ruin it though, its turning into Britain's Got Talent where the judges tend to go more by the audiences reaction which is just really annoying...I think Simon used to give out more when the live audience weren't there!

Over in England this morning watching some news station, seems like they're not too impressed with the whole sob story either...for God's sake people, just admit you're singing for fame and money, not for your child/dog/neighbour

Holy ****! That's really bad!

    It's meant to be a freakin' singing contest. What's with the auto-tune? I hate auto-tune. :(

    This makes me sad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,849 ✭✭✭bluejay14

S'pose though on the whole Auto Tune thing, the singers must still be fairly decent because the judges heard it without the auto tune and still put them through.
The 16 year old lad that got through to judges houses is from my town. \o/ Finallly someone from here can do something decent.

Anywhere I can watch the first auditions online or on telly?
I missed X Factor and XtraFactor, I was pissed.

Just what you said there about the judges hearing them without autotune. At the Dublin auditions the sound was desperate. The backing tracks were far too loud and completely drowned out the singers' voices. So from somebody sitting in the audience, it was often difficult at times to tell who was good and who was amazing. So I don't know how the judges could distinguish either unless they were briefed / had a big sneak peek before hand...! ;)
