    Actually that's a 4 cyl 912 and not a 911.
Seems to be in great shape! Lovely colour too

I always preferred the 912's for some odd reason!
I think I always felt sort of sorry for them!

I think I always felt sort of sorry for them!

I personally prefer the 912 over the more common 911T's.
They're in fact a lot more 'practical' to run on a more regular basis, and especially in traffic they behave a bit more civil than the more higher strung and thirsty 911's. Compared to the most common of the 911's: the 911 "T", performance is roughly similar, with aprox 90bhp against 110bhp, in a slightly lighter combo. Where the 912 excells most is the handling: a 912 basically is a 911 with the most rear 2 cylinders taken away, so you end up with an engine that sits a lot deeper into the body, and they do feel slightly more nimble and alive than a 911T.... however, the only thing I did never get used to, was the unmistakable 'beetle' rumble idling at the traffic light.

Make no mistake, a properly setup 911 "S" blows the pants off a standard 912 anyday though, but we're looking at approx 180bhp there, and proper "S" are a rare sight, with prices rising sky high for good examples, 35-45k plus without a bother. They're also a lot more of a handfull on the road, and if you're ever stuck in traffic with an 'S', that's generally a memorable experience of loads of splutter, spit and cough!

I have driven a number of race tuned 912's, and I genuinely prefered those to similarly tuned 911's. They just felt a lot more confident on the road and not as much of a handfull, but then again, this probably says more about the limitations of my own 'driver's skils' rather than anything else :D .

LOVE the interior. Nardi wheel and more wood than a 1920's yacht. :)

    Looks smashing.

What's the finished product like (the GT6), I remember seeing it an Terenure last year! Looked like an amazing shell!

Seconded, that interior's awesome! The white gauges are the best bit, I reckon.
