    barney up 2-0.

by the way did barney hit a nine darter recently.sky have made a point of mentioning a nine darter every 10 seconds.

He hit a 9 Darter live two days ago against Dolan. He whipped him 4-0.

Painter is just not with it.

    Barney is going to collapse

Does anybody know the name of the other blonde girl who walks out the dart players at the start. I know one of them is called Nicola Cowell. Anybody know who the other one is?

Painter played way below his best tonight and that was a pity because Barneveld was there for the taking. Barneveld doesn't look in the best of health and with the quarter finals next up for him against Ronnie Baxter and the games best of 9 sets i reckon Baxter will beat Barney.

    so we've got taylor/lewis webster/stompe witlock/wade barney/baxter.

i fancy witlock for the final to win it thou i dont know . do they play for a third place?

Yes there is a 3rd placed match on before the final.

Delighted to see Stompe play so well today, really like that guy.

Reckon Taylor will beat Lewis, Stompe to take Webster, Whitlock to beat Wade, and Barney to finally find a bit of form and get through.

Should be 4 great qf's tho, and that Taylor/Lewis game could maybe be the real final. Fancy whoever gets through that to win it out.

I'd love to see Lewis win it also but lets face it lads it's not going to happen, Taylor is better than ever and is averaging 100+ in third gear, if anyone averages 106+ and puts it up to him Taylor has 115+ in the locker.

Without Taylor the PDC would be ultra competitive but he's just too good.

It depends. There is a game that beats Taylor and has always rocked him...it just asks a lot (too much, for most) of some players. If Lewis can rock him early and take a 2-0 lead while Taylor is settling into the game...then hold his throw and take the few chances Taylor gives him, you'll start to see that disorientated look from Taylor that we saw a lot in 2007-early 2008.

I learned a long time ago to never bet against Taylor. But I wouldn't say that there's no chance of Lewis causing an upset. If he finds the right balance of self-belief and doesn't respect Taylor too much...he can certainly make a game of it. Lewis, for me, is the only man today capable of hanging with Phil at his best...as long as he finds his own best. That's what makes this game so intriguing. We all know he CAN beat him, but will he?

Was very happy that all my picks made it through yesterday. What's the story with Barneveld though? The man seems to be a portrait of self doubt at times and it's very sad because with more confidence he could stand like a giant with Phil above the rest of the field. They were reeeally overstating his bout of exhaustion last night and it's that kind of sensationalism in the PDC's commentary that can get so so tiresome at times. I'm starting to get this feeling like Barney is gonna keep getting lucky and stumble his way into the final somehow though.....

Pfft at Barney getting lucky, he dropped one set in 3 games. You only have to beat the man in front of you remember. Barney always ups his game when his opponent does likewise and is still very much on course for the final imo.

I think you are all missing the boat about Ade Lewis. He's been playing far and away the best darts we've ever seen him play. He will finally get the best of Taylor this time, he is playing so well and has been talking about taking on Taylor all wk. Looking forward to this match the most.

Whitlock and Wade is a coin-flip.

    Fancy Webster against Stompe.

Oh and Prem League next year will be Taylor Barney Wade Jenkins King Baxter Lewis and Anderson imo.

Well true that you only have to beat the man on front of you but thankfully for Barney, the man on front of him last night was not playing anywhere near his best darts last night and that's where I felt he got lucky. Of course Barneveld can pull out top form but I just wonder with the problems he admits to having, will we see it?

Under 20.5 180's in the taylor v lewis match is 1/1 in ladbrokes.

Does any1 else think this is a steel.?

I fancy taylor to beat lewis fairly easily l know lewis has looked good but these players always crumble under pressure against taylor and it could well be a 5-1 or 5-2 taylor win.

I dunno Robbie, at first glance it may seem that way, but I wouldn't be investing too much in it. Perhaps as a small interest bet.

Both of these guys are at the top of the averages chart, Lewis 106+, Taylor not too far behind. With the extra set, and the probability of Lewis sticking closer to Taylor than he ever has done, so 21 max's is likely.

Taylor will win but not in a canter. Lewis seems like a different man this yr, fatherhood seems to have done the trick and he's focused on the prize and the scores reflect this.

So I would swerve this bet and look elsewhere for a bit of value.

Thanks reg you make a bit of sense there.

I have to say I've never looked forward to a day of quarter final matches
    before as I do tomorrow.

Match betting would be the way I would be going.

    Stompe to win 5-2 @ 6/1

    Wade to win 5-4 @ 9/4

    Barney to win 5-2 @ 9/2

    Taylor to win 5-3 @ 4/1

Accum on this is 1058/1, Ok unlikely but a euro won't kill me.

For a larger stake I'd be throwing a nifty on Stompe, first game of the day and a great way to start the new yr.

    Im thinking

    stompe

am leaning 70/30 in favour of whitlock but not sure what to do yet

am thinking of a big bet on baxter

and your 5-3 to taylor looks good there reg at 4/1.

every match tomorrow has the potential to go either way tho.

if my life depended on it taylors match aside I'd go for baxter to be barnie.

I'm really hoping Lewis - Taylor lives up to the hype, Lewis is more than capable of matching him stride-for-stride I'm just hoping he brings his best game to the oche instead of conceding defeat before any darts are thrown.

    Very difficult predicting tomorrow's results, I'm lookin at this treble;

    Lewis most 180s - 8/11

    Wade most 180s - Evs

    Stompe most 180s - 8/13

Works out about 9/2 I think, might be worth a few squid. I'm staying away from the match-betting, as I said very difficult to call.

Would probably concur with Reginald on this.... although if you think that Taylor will thrash Lewis - which is a distinct possibility - then it could be a very good bet.... If Lewis pushes taylor then it probably will be a 180 fest....

    I just did an acc

    Webster
    Wade
    Barney
    Lewis.

So lads, I would recommend you do the complete opposite to me going by my predictions so far.

    webster 5-3

    wade 5-2

Further up the thread Kingp35 posted a link, ladbrokes are also streaming the sky feed through their website, you just need an account (i.e. you dont have to place a bet)

    http://www.sbs6.nl/web/show/id=306611/langid=43

good quality stream but the commentary is in dutch the last few rounds.still better than sid i suppose.

    I've gone for(double):- CO Stompe most 180s(8/13) & Wade over 7.5 180s (8/11)

Meant to put Whitlock over 7.5 180s....but somehow put Wade by mistake. Bet looks beat before the off with Wade really struggling on the trebles in last match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,105 ✭✭✭hiscan

    Co Stompe v Mark Webster
    Simon Whitlock v James Wade
Raymond Van Barneveld v Ronnie Baxter
    Phil Taylor v Adrian Lewis

    Accumulator pays 9/2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭Fonze07

    I have gone for:
    Stompe +1.5 4/7
    Baxter +1.5 5/6
Highest Match Checkout over 132.5 in Wade Whitlock match 8/11

    4/1 TREBLE

Ps Anybody know the names of the other blonde model who walks out the dart players at the start of the match? I know one of them is called Nicola Cowell.

    Stompe 5-2
    Whitlock 5-3
