Seems to happen often when one player gets stuck on 2 or 3 the other ends up there as well.

Would be lovely to see another coupla sets going Whitlock's way now.

My Dad just text me there, he has E50 on Taylor to win 7-3

There seemed to be a streaker in the background being escorted out causing all the commotion.

    About 11/2 I think

Great darts, fair play to whitlock being savage all week. Taylor is unreal, the set with the 167 and 161 checkouts was key, incredible.

Taylor is an arrogant wanker sometimes, getting his poxy dartboard signed
by everyone instead of standing and applauding whitlock receiving his runners up trophy. ****ing twat

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

One hundred grand for runner up?!! Jaysus, that's not to be sniffed at. No wonder it's been a life changing tournament for him!!

When's the next tournament on Sky??

Whitlock seems like a thoroughly nice bloke, hope he does well on the circuit.

Well a wild card for the prem league could be likely, i think they should have a prem league and a second tier, with promotions, relegations etc. Could work, maybe?

    It was 9/2 in PP.

Couldn't believe Taylor threw that 170  beat the Whitlock highest out bet

    Player Averages

    Taylor over 105.5 4/5 Taylor under 105.5 10/11 Whitlock over 99.5 8/11 Whitlock under 99.5 evens
This is an interesting market from paddy power.

Im thinking the whitlock 1/1 under 99.5 could be the bet of the year.
To have a 3 dart average of over 99.5 he will have to keep with taylor for the whole match .
Im thinking of doing a big bet on it.
    any1 else agree?

Never realy got a run for my money :(.

Tho after that leg when they were both stuck on double 1 l think it took whitlock around 6 darts to finish they never showed the 3 dart averages
again in tho rest of the match

and then they never even put it up after the match.

lm not tearing up the docket yet:rolleyes:

maybe clutchin at straws a bit there, I don't even think with that dodgy leg it would make much of a difference. Think last time I seen average Whitlock was on 104 or something

Just looked on PDC website....you'll be sick......100.51 for Whitlock

Wouldn't say so. The entire idea of the PL is to showcase the Top 8 players in the world and establish them to more casual fans. That's why it takes place right after the Worlds.

You could do it on the floor circuit...I suppose...but it'd mean the PDC would have to give up control of it. This might sound appealing to purists from a 'fairness' side of things: but it'd be a poor, risky move from a promotional standpoint. Like them or not, the likes of Mardle and Manley are part of the reason the PDC is where it is today.

Yea Im pretty sure it was over 99.5 alright.

last they put it up that l saw l think it was 102.5.

do u fancy any1 in the other tournie?

I think l will just do 2 players in the outright market in the morning and leave it at that rather than this
    betting in every match malarky.

sh.it 100.51 that was close in the end.

    aye unlucky :(

The bdo tournament? Well I'm not betting on it first off. I looked at outright odds but they were crap! Think O Shea & Waites are best options....but no value at all with them.

I've withdrawn the money from both my betting accounts so not going to be any darts betting until the PL kicks off (lots of draws, lots of 8-6 wins)

taught the final was great standard and Whitlock any other year would been much closer.

the prize money has went up quiet bit 100grand for runner up is not bad days work.

I remember only about 8-9 years ago the winner was getting about 35,000 there abouts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,955 ✭✭✭Degag

Well guys i won my bet but i would have loved it so much more if Whitlock could have won it...

Whitlock played very well, he threw with heart and never gave up. He is the World no. 2 now IMO. He beat the world no. 2, 3 and 5 during the competition. Fantastic player and if Taylor wasn't there...................

Just back from London. Loved it, although the final wasn't that close it was still a great game. The Whitlock v Barney match was great as well.

A very good WC all in all and looking forward to next year already :)
