Ok - thought last episode next week - well the title hopefully is for real

They end up reading from the Book of Revelations lol.

But there better be clear resolutions by the end of this season. Or a way to jump the story forward.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,563 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I thought that as well about it referencing the book of Revelations but then remembered I watched something last week where someone was corrected when they called if that and it was posted out it was called called The Book of Revelation.

But it's possible secrets could come to light, like Fatima's pregnancy, but pretty sure that will happen next week after what happened this week. Or what the 3 who were in the nightmare comas went through.

But hopefully it will give us some answers.

What was with the body in the secret room and the question about where it happens? Was it the ghost's?

How long have they had the talismans though? Before they had them, it was just pure survival with a high kill rate. With the talismans they got some relief from it all and worked on making the best of the situation. Now, since season 1, things appear to be changing… whether it be Jade and Tabitha arriving with their connection to the place, or increasing desperation due to new events causing Boyd and a few others to seek answers instead of waiting around for what's next.

That cop is grating alright. Comes across as one of those wafer-thin, unhinged Stephen King characters that goes mad and kills a load of people. They're really forcing the aggression between her and Boyd.

It is interesting that, for the second time in recent episodes, a new character has made reference to the oddness of the town buildings.

So… is Fatima turning into one of the monsters? One of the strong theories has been that the monsters were previously humans trapped there. So maybe this is Fatima turning. That body horror moment could hint at her internals changing… along with her new cravings. That kill was telegraphed a mile away. Where's she going to run to now though.

This was probably the weakest episode of the season so far. Very much a filler episode just nudging a couple of plots along slowly, and setting things up for the final episodes.

Nonsense idea. But why has no one ever chopped a simulated monsters head off?

Well one question answered that I'd completely forgotten about: Who threw the rope down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,914 ✭✭✭Bacchus

Yeah, that was a "ahhh that's what happened!!" moment :D

That whole sequence has opened up a whole new angle on everything now though. I hope they manage it well, but I'm not thrilled at this new time travel aspect. I just fear it is going to add so much complexity to the story and give the writers a lazy tool to use to explain anything… so yeah, I was simultaneously excited and disappointed during that scene.

Staying positive though… who is the old man so? He recognized Julie. Could it be Jim? What was the significance of showing her in the tunnels? Ok, she heard her mom and Victor but was there some reveal that I missed out of that?

The Eglin and the dead woman storyline is now the creepiest. That "there is baby…. it's just not yours" was freaky. It's the way he's been manipulated to believe he's doing a good thing… while doing such a horrific thing that is so well done.

Victor remembering what the kid in white said (disappointed we didn't get a possessed doll) probably went over my head a bit. Sounded like more riddles… the end is the beginning, something about children in darkness. TBH, that was underwhelming. All that build up to not a whole lot.

Jade the MVP this week again. I enjoyed watching him put Jim in his place.

This was the second weak episode in a row this season for me. A lot of set up and new layers to the mysteries without much in the way of moving the plot forward (with the exception of Fatima's situation). Hopefully it's just a lull before the final 2-parter finale and it ends on a high.

The whole Fatima thing was my least favourite part of teh show so hopefully this latest development improves that.

Strange how we only see Elgin around the house yet he's able to find these hidden places by a photo alone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,914 ✭✭✭Bacchus

I'm sure he, like everyone else, has explored the area. We see him for about 1-2 minutes per episode and days are passing.

The Child in White and Julie being the rope thrower is starting to make me suspect the writers are about to borrow heavily from the TV show Dark.

That was a great ending to this weeks episode hopefully some answers will come in next weeks season finale.

So going by the ending to this week's episode

Tabitha is Victor's mother reincarnated or something along those lines?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 983 ✭✭✭MICKEYG

    Tabitha is Victor's sister?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,914 ✭✭✭Bacchus

It's one of two things for me..

    1. She's his sister and repressed the memories… hence the dreams of the place… she was there before.
    2. The "chosen ones" are connected… shared memory or something like that and Tabitha has just been "activated".

Decent episode, step up from the previous two and it feels like a number of storyline's are geared up to reveal something new… Jade and the bottles, Fatima's baby, Tabhita's chosen one status. The ghost/zombie lady is the creepiest thing they've added since the original night monsters. That scene in the cellar… keeping Fatima quiet was horrible. WTF is going to happen with that baby… and the hatch!

Anyone else hoping that they find a Scottish fella entering numbers on a computer under that hatch :D

Good to see Smiley back (even in flashback form).

I did find it incredibly annoying that they scripted Henry to say Victor was trying to talk to a "block of wood", not "puppet" or "doll" cause Jade would have joined that dot so fast to his hallucinations.

As someone pointed out in the comments, it was 15 months between season 2 and 3 so if they do the same, it maybe February 2026.

Have found the last three episodes a slog, even by From's typically slow standards. So many poor/irrelevant characters on the show. I'll stick with it though.

Some answers and one hell of a final shot to end the season on.

It’s a normal length episode with a 15 minute introduction to a different MGM+ show after the credits.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,253 ✭✭✭✭TheValeyard

Well, considering how the other episode went, time travel should not be too unexpected lol.

Tonight the big finale for the season. Be interesting to see how it goes. I swear ta fcuk if they end it on a cliffhanger...

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

So is the guy at the end the simulated Devil?

    Good Question.

He crushed Jim's neck like it was nothing

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,563 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

    He's the black smoke.

So future Julie was trying to save Jim.

Probably a good thing for us that he's gone considering the revelations. Can be sure he would be annoying about Tabitha and Jade being a couple in a previous life.

Poor Elgin. If they had waited and let him go, he would've found out he was lied to about going home.

    Possible Victor's sister is somewhere.

I know it's for story reasons but always find it weird when someone explains the rules of things as if they're a fact. Like Julie being a story walker and we're meant to accept it as fact that she can't change things because of what Ethan said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,449 ✭✭✭✭Snake Plisken

Great ending and sad as well as I liked that character

Some interesting theories and explanations in here 2026 can't come quick enough for me

Really good finale after an enjoyable but slow season. They actually answered a butt-load of outstanding questions at once which I was surprised by, now it feels like it's really coming together.

Who are the monsters, where do they come from, what's the deal with the older homes and the civil war soldier, who was the voice on the radio, what do the codes mean, what's Annkooey, why do only some people experience visions of children, etc.

Laughed when Jim grabbed Tabitha and said "What the **** are you talking about", it just felt so hilariously channeling everything the audience has been feeling regarding her many mysteries lately.

Also couldn't help but laugh at Julie at the end, they tried so hard to make it painfully obvious she's "future" Julie. Now the big mystery is if she's really limited to viewing a story already told, or if she can change anything at any point.

All in all I thought it was pretty satisfying, huge leap forward and so much explained as to the how and why of the town.

Watched the preview intro to that show afterwards, could be alright, MGM probably desperate to keep the From crowd on the platform.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,563 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

He might have lived if people learned to use their words. Julie was acting like Tabitha just rambling. If she had just told him to run because he's going to die, maybe he would survive.

To be fair that screwdriver had been getting a lot of attention all season, missing from Kenny's house, Jim had, others had it. Destined to do evil.

But fair play to Sarah for speeding up the plot.

Jade is a brilliant character. I'd go drinking with him.

Presuming the Man in Yellow is some sort of devil figurehead type.

So is the boy in White, Ethan from another cycle?

Oh that's definitely future Julie at the end watching Jim getting neck pinched.

Smilie is back. Good, he's a creepy fcuker. Great bad guy.

    2026, FFS.
