Any idea of the dimensions of the Jinko panels??, the problem/challenge with all these type solar panels with a compressor is that they tend to freeze up in the winter, the COP can then fall right off, the compressor can also be damaged, I think a unit like the Ariston Nuos is a far better proposition because a fan blowes air through the evaporator and largely prevents this.

How much hot water do you really use ?

10 grand just for hot water seems a lot .. ( maybe not if you use it ) .

Thanks. Maybe a diverter will be better.

The way it was positioned to me was that I wouldn't have to use gas to heat up the water in the cylinder. So for example, right now in the summer months we have the boiler to come on in the morning and early evening. Therefore, we wouldn't need to have to the boiler on at all. Only in the winter months to heat the radiators.

But like you say/imply 24/7 is excessive.

My mam and dad have a small basic solar hot water system, with flat panels , 6 to 8 months of the year it heats their water , with minimal maintenance,

Honestly , P.V would be an even easier bet , if your roof space or garden space allows..

Seems decent , ( honestly I know zip about thermodynamic systems)

Is that a typical price? Or recent ?

I thought the OP mentioned that they were quoted 10 grand ,
