6 changes for Cork which is good to see

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,977 ✭✭✭lukin

Still no place for Ben Cunningham, he's not even in the squad. The rumour around Cork is he is not being considered because of his recent conviction for driving offences.

Absolutely ridiculous if true, especially when you consider the very recent high profile case in a neighbouring county .

Without having any knowledge of what's going on in the camp, I'd be astonished if that's the case. Cunningham was injured so missed the league. He's playing a few league matches now with the club to get back up to speed and I'd expect him to play a part with Cork this year if we progress out of Munster.

It's common knowledge in Cork that that is the case. Nothing to do with him being injured.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,459 ✭✭✭The White Feather

From what I've heard, its exactly like Sportsfan says. He is viewed as behind in the pecking order as he was out injured. I would have had him in the panel now but I think he will be added later. Of course I have heard the other rumours but I heard the above from more reliable people. Again though we cant be certain though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 614 ✭✭✭sportsfan90

I tend not to take much notice of these rumours, not long ago Tim O'Mahony was supposed to be off the panel. Then there was more stuff that was supposed to have happened at that camp in Dingle, more rubbish. Remember last year when all the pub talk was that Hegarty had left the Limerick panel. It's 3 days before a massive match it's not useful to be posting gossip about the group.

Correct. I'd have started Cunningham instead of Hoggie, he's available, just not selected, should be an option from the bench at the very least. He us the future Hoggie from frees alone but is not involved.

Mullins aswell should be on the bench if not starting.

Changes, but I'm sceptical whether the performance will come with that starting 15.

Even enough first half. We went 0-06 v 0-09 down but got back into it well to be 0-14 v 0-12 up at ht.

Jack Leahy doing well again, 7 points so far

    Good win for Cork, 1-25 v 2-20

Leahy was Unreal and did the majority of the scoring,, ably assisted by Healy.

    3 wins in a row.

Good start to the weekend with the minors comfortable win over Waterford last night.

    Onto the main event Sunday.

Just a reminder for those in Cork early tomorrow, camogie v Clare at 12 in PUC

  • Registered Users Posts: 119 ✭✭FantasyFool

Im very worried about the back 6 tomorro and in particular the 2 Downeys tomorrow. Big men with plenty of hurling but they lack the legs for intercounty hurling. Wel hope for the best!

Some Celtic Challenge results today again

    East Cork 1-10 Kilkenny 3-15

    West Cork 3-10 Galway 1-24

    North Cork 1-17 Dublin 2-11

Looking forward to the game tomorrow. Great chance to put the season right and bounce back. I'm expecting a big change from the desperate performance of last week. If we have another slow start, it will kill us though. I do think the lads will prove a lot of people wrong. It's about doing it on the pitch now and no excuses.

A huge performance is needed today, lose and we're staring down the barrel of yet another group stage exit. Pat Ryan has only won the one championship game as Cork manager as well.

It's not over as such if we lose but considering that we have Limerick up next a lot is on the line today.

I don't expect or demand victory but i demand a performance and for everyone to lay it on the line today.

Time to step up. I expect a good game and a savsage atmosphere and hopefully any kind of a home win !

    Time to hit the road.

today for Cork could be like 1999 all over again… back then Jimmy Barry Murphy gave was it 7 lads there debut against a strong seasoned waterford team in a Munster semi final… Cork won that game and the rest is history….

today could be the same… i think Cork might have underestimated waterford last Sunday when the deise had such a poor league campaign… they wont underestimate Clare… and Pairc Ui Chaoimh hasnt been a ground Clare have had much luck in… and then add to that Clare's meltdown last Sunday may still be occupying their minds… i fancy Cork.. the u20 successes will at some stage make their mark at senior level.. why not today??

Good start today with the Camogie players winning in the Munster semi final
