It was actually the Clare manager Terence Fahy delayed in handing the sliotar over to a Cork player which started it.

Lads. Cork underage hurling is in good shape. I think if the Seniors can make the breakthrough and I say IF, I feel we could be the next ones to dominate hurling in Ireland. The seniors must first get over the line for that to happen.

Imagine if the following make the senior grade: Jack Leahy, Sam Ring, Deano's son, and Baby Jesus' nephew.... it'll be the Four Horsemen of the Corkopalypse

With regards to the moaning from Clare supporters, well it's always something or someone elses fault whenever we win a match. People just don't like giving us credit for anything. The moaning after the u20 all Ireland final last year being a case in point. It doesn't matter what we do we'll never get the credit for anything from some people.

If and hopefully when we have success at senior level, the rest of Ireland will have well and truly earned the insufferable Cork supporters they will encounter, because the rest of the country has been condescending and insufferable towards us for far too long!

its nothing against cork , it was kilkenny last week and adrian mullan , i am sure we will spot something next sunday against limerick and be shouting blue murder for the week after too

its part of the game now , too much watching monday night football on sky and over analyzing referees , although i would say the referee was very poor last night , not on clare but on both teams

the reality of the situation we are playing with a deaccent u17 team from last year against a very good bunch of 20s this year its a pitty the game didnt finish 15v 15 as cork exploited the space with perfection after the sending off , the efficacy was a little off , the only way we will know exactly how close we are to ye will be by making the final and having another crack , these competitions have been a massive success since the split season has been introduced especially when you can access the, online

i have been more impressed with william buckley then jack leahy , buckleys shooting lets himself down at times but its something he will get right , he is a natural talent in fairness ,

Congratulations to Armagh today who won the Division 3A Camogie Final today. In their team was Jennifer O'Leary who won 4 All-Irelands with Cork and was playing at age 40! She last played for Cork in 2014 but now lives in Armagh with her husband so her surname is now Curry. Still doing great things!

They are both excellent. They got 1-14 between them.

I was very impressed with Conor Whelan from Clare too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,474 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

yeah they are two excellent players , leahy was top class against waterford in the last game got two super scores , buckley has been on the radar that little bit more outside of cork maybe that's why i am drawn to him

conor is a good hurler no doubt , and a fine free taker , but from a future intercounty point of view he will defiantly make the panel but his impact i dont think will be as great as , say jack enright , michael collins or john cahill or sean rynne to us them players would be core players in this current panel that we hope to bring through to senior

it was an excellent game none the less , the format for this competition is excellent too , i am very interested to see how your game goes against tipperary next week , definitely worth the €10 on clubber

Cork were very pedestrian moving the ball from defence to the forwards throughout.

That was poor. Not a player between them.

And we are all surprised with that result. What is it with Cork football they rarely can beat Kerry in any grade. Who is responsible for coaching underage teams right up in Cork? Because who ever it is isn't doing a good job and we continue to accept poor standards in this county. Football is in a bad way in Cork. Wait until the Seniors destroy us at the weekend in Killarney.

Thats a commom trend with all Cork intercounty teams playing football at the moment.

Working in kerry and they tell me that's a poor enough Kerry side.

Sure look what happened last year when they got beat to Sligo in semi.

Was not a player who looked any bit decent. Captain was ok but nothing special there.

We be having same argument in 10 years and 20 years time you can lock that in.

We have 4 All Irelands in 80 years and it seems Cork people are happy enough with that.

Looking forward to both games today and tomorrow.

Today we obviously go more in hope as Killarney a tough place to go and get a win. Realistically if we can keep it tight until near the end and not lose by more than 6, I think we will be doing well. Getting hammered and it feels like we are back to square one again. We are very inconsistent so its hard to know what will happen.

For tomorrow we are on the other side almost where I expect us to win. Waterford have a good team picked and are at home but they have one big problem. Its name is Davy. His weird gameplan will either work really well or fail miserably. Even if it works well, I think we will have more than enough to counteract it near the end. Having Connolly and Coleman back this year is like having 2 new players who you know are good.

Interesting to read that Pat Ryan brought in Ian Jones as S&C coach straight away after being knocked out last year and he has earmarked goals this year. Feels like he learned a lot from last year as he said he got it wrong last year before the Tipp game. They trained rather than having a break which might have been better. All lessons learned that should help things this year.

The home games are key for all counties and thats why I feel the pressure is on Waterford and Davy. If we can get a good start, they will get disheartened with Davy and his antics and then the home advantage becomes a burden. If they start fine, it will still be there if we get on top later. Our bench has some great options and this is where the game will be won for us. I don't think Waterford will be able to keep us out and if we get a few goals early they are in big trouble.

If you have not guessed by now, I don't think much of Davy and his tactics. Waterford should have got rid of him already but as was seen last year, he is likely to win one game so we have to make sure it is not us! Waterford have to be respected though as they have very good players.

If we can get this win on the board it will set us up nicely for the home games. Once we don't gift them opportunities and easy scores that will give them confidence, we will be ok. I hope to see us pulling away near the end and this is what I see happening.

Great to have Championship back on although don't get me started about GAAGO as that really annoys me!!

Another round of Celtic Challenge Hurling games today

    Cork City 1-16 Wexford 1-12

    Cork North 3.17 Derry 1.16

    Cork West 1-11 Limerick 1-15

Haven't got the Cork East result yet

I saw a Ladies Football Senior B result which seems very odd

    Cork 6-11 Kerry 0-1

What are the odds of that score in the mens game today? 😂

Cork 1-7 Kerry 0-9 HT. Started really well but Ķerry came into the game as it went on

Ladies football leading Waterford 1-5 to 03 at HT

    Half Time
    Kerry: 0-9(9)
    Cork: 1-7(10)

Good first 20 mins from Cork but just scored one point after the 18th min. We looked ragged near the end of the half so now we can regroup. Great to be actually in the game but Kerry have fluffed a lot of chances. Ref also seems to give them a lot of 50-50s which doesnt help.

We look great running at them but old habits crept in near the end of that half. We had the ball but literally stopped and were looking around. Kerry got the ball and within 2 kicks Clifford was putting it over the bar.

If we can keep the tempo up we might have a chance but I'd expect Kerry to come out and pull away handily
