Probably better asking that question this time next week on whether we'll have a full squad, still 11 days to go. Hopefully nobody picked up anything in that challenge over Wexford the weekend.

Shane Kingston ruled out for Cork, unsure if he'd be a regular starter for them but every little helps I suppose.

TDB, Daly, Prunty & Bennett all played. Seems we are full strength other than the long term injuries to C.Daly and others. +3 point handicap is bet of he year at 11/10. With pitch conditions and the usual Championship kick, there wont be much in this game.

And lads wanted Waterford to build a 20-40k capacity stadium!

I do find that surprising. I guess Davy ball won’t attract big crowds in Waterford, not within a county used to playing attractive hurling. Being starved of the big trophy is one thing but playing Over coached hurling won’t led to big crowds

You'd feel if we do lose to Cork the Saturday evening game against Tipp won't attract many either

Not too mention the away trips from hell

Best of luck to the minor hurlers tomorrow at home to Tipp

Well, there'll be no pressure on Waterford. All the pressure will be on Cork.

100% agree this game is far from a gimme on all evidence you'd have to fancy cork but a full strength and in a right frame of mind Waterford are a match for anyone. Surely there's a kick in them

Might be worth a flutter as the odds will be decent. And I hear TDB is back. Can’t write off Waterford especially with the players they have

I've selfishly been hoping the tickets would go on general sale as I haven't been able to get any yet 😅

if only for the Davy factor I’d agree with you. With him as manger we are starting ar least -5pts down. Hope I’m wrong but can’t see it any other way….😡

Is this group particularly weak.?.. We've had some poor teams underage recently but these appear to be even more off the pace.

Have a spare terrace (keanes road end) ticket for the cork match. DM me if anyone wants it

Left that game behind us tonight. Too many poor wides and once again some poor decision making which seems to be a common theme across all Waterford teams.

Great second half by the lads in fairness, really dug in to get back into game, 16 wides, 12 points down at half time and we should have got something out of it.

Very good 2nd half display from Waterford minors and only for some poor goals conceded in the first half we really could and should have got a result here. Maybe watch the game as a whole lads rather than twitter scrolling especially when wind can be such a factor. Negativity is chronic here.

Anyone else think we were over-thinking it against the wind and when we went direct and off the cuff in the 2nd half we looked a completely different side. Something hopefully the management will think about going forward.

their performance's in the first game and a half were poor but their second half display today was encouraging. Short puck outs in the first half and wides through out the game killed them. It’s amazing the effect a bit of confidence can have on young lads, once they got it in the second half they were a completely different team. Hopefully they will bring the second half performance into their last two games. I think top two in group go to Munster final and 3 and 4 into all Ireland preliminary with Leinster teams. It would be great to get into preliminary, the more games the better for young players like this

does anyone know if Patrick Fitzgerald plays under 20 next Friday week will he be ineligible to play for the seniors 2 days later or is that rule gone

1at half was disappointing against the wind, constantly turned over on short puckouts, poor shot selection and wides, 3 goals that could have been prevented and the goal before half-time was particularly a killer.

However the 2nd half was encouraging. Subs introduced made an impact, the players upped their intensity and work rate and brought more physicality and the quality of both goals was top class and showed guts and determination. Shot selection was still poor at times and one player had 6 wides (he did contribute 1-1 in the 2nd half though) and he wasn’t alone in taking the wrong option in front of goal. Can’t fault the group for effort throughout, poor execution in the 1st half was a killer.

One positive is that 12 of the 15 that finished are underage next year.

Between posting this stuff about lads aged 15-17 and your form regards Eddie Brennan you come across as a bit of a spanner

This is nothing new, we were outnumbered at home Vs Clare in the first round under fanning having reached a league final. Walsh park wasn't even full on the day. Support for the county team has been declining for the last 10-12 years.

Shouldn't be like this. Trophies are not relative to season ticket holders, for instance. Take Mayo, have a huge following and season ticket crowd.

How long has the current chairman and board been in place? Is it time for new blood? Between sponsorships and promotion, the last few years have been a struggle.

Mayo has an extra 30k population, the majority of Waterfords 100k population are located in and around the city 60-70k within 10k of the city.

GAA in Waterford has a lot of competition from other sports which would also have an impact (especially in the city and Tramore). All you need to do is look at the amount of members per club and attendance at club games to see there isn't a huge core support for hurling in the county.

90s and 00s we saw a large increase in support as a lot of the new support loved the "day out", "the bus to thurles for cans", 4 or maybe five championship games a year during a Celtic tiger and tickets at a reasonable cost.

Pre that burst of support in the late 90s and 00s Waterford following was fairly small, probably similar to now, I'd imagine we have more now as we are competitive.

This is why I always chuckled when I heard people requesting a 20-30k seating stadium in Waterford.

Even under Cahill, tickets were floating around pre both home championship games.
