My not spotting that the video was likely a plant? Nor who it was, is evidence of just how little watch YouTube I watch 🤷‍♀️

I'm currently speccing up a solar PV setup for the house. The lads over on the renewable energy sub have been a great help. The advice offered over there gave me lots of options and more importantly gave me a realistic pricing guide.

If things go the way I want with the installation? I will have 18 panels pointing south and my daily use well covered with a nice surplus to export(well it will be exported until we go EV).

Considered chopping this in during the week but just a passing consideration. Def feel like something new but my list of genuine wants is fairly small.

Hi, I'm looking for some advice. Has anybody any good recommendations for leather watch straps. Pricewise up to about 50 euro.

    Thanks again.

You could look at Hirsch straps for that sort of price.

Chrono24 have got rid of 65 staff as a result of the slow down in the used watch market

How safe is buying on Chrono 24 ? It’s from a private seller as opposed to a business. If it turns out to be fake or some other issue is it easy to get refund ?

Perfectly safe the money is held until the buyer confirms they are happy with the watch, if it wasn’t safe it wouldn’t have grown to the size it has.

I've only bought on Chrono24 a couple of times but they've been hassle free and straightforward.

Is anyone else but me finding they are rotating watches less and wearing 1 or perhaps 2 the vast majority of the time?

My usual was swap every 3 days or so and spread the love. Now? It's maybe once a week and even then it's usually 1 of 2 watches, my Sinn U2 or my Omega GMT. My others are being a little ignored.

I’ve bought a few on chrono but all from watch dealers and usually new with full warranty stamped and had no issues. This one though is from a private seller so feeling a bit more cautious.

Very rare to find one with "eluminise"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,152 ✭✭✭✭banie01

I've read the ad and I'm still trying to figure out why it's special, must be the "eluminise" feature 😲

i have bought from dealers and private sellers and it has all been fine, i was worried at the start like yourself and a veteran explained to me that the money is in an escrow type service which cannot fail and you also have the payment card charge back option as a back up.

When i look back i was apprehensive because it was new and so was ebay at one point too but that is second nature to us all now.

Will only increase in value the older it gets, stop sitting on your hands 😀

    this surprised me

There was no sign of a slowdown in the luxury watch market, as Watches of Switzerland reported a 17% increase in revenue for the three months to 29 January, but sharesfell amid slow growth in jewellery sales. The company, which stocks brands including Rolex, Patek Philippe and TagHeuer, brought in £402 million during the period. Luxury watch sales were up 22% to £340 million.

Just did a deal on a big blue Rolex. What have I done? 😮

Anyone want to buy a Tesla, a kidney, one of my daughters?

That blue sky is exceptional looking in pictures. Little on the large size for my taste but seems like it would suit you (if that is what you got).

Well wear on the new watch Unk, whichever flavour of Rolex it is.

I've just spotted a Sinn 155 Darkstar for sale over on TZ. I am sorely tempted.

    Might be interested.

In no particular order, age, condition, and preferences in older men?

    ;)

I'll ask but I don't think my kidney cares about the age or sexual orientation of the recipient 😂

i got an old seiko that belonged to my late dad. its an 5M82 kinetic movement. hands and date can change with the crown.

had work done by timemark a few years back. are they my only option or is their others? can that movement be freed up or is it new movement time?

any idea how to identify what model it is?

    Many thanks

Little on the small size for my taste. But I will just have to condition myself into thinking it's not small 😂

Hoping to pick it up on Tuesday. Excited!
