    This is just a great song that I loved from the first time I put it on. Was very tempted to rank it in the top 3 but I felt they were a little more on theme than this one. Not a knock on just how good the song is though, particularly that beautiful chorus.

    I was trying to think all day what Hamilton song would fit into the theme. I am disappointed!

    Deacon Blue – Chocolate Girl





    Wasn’t a fan of this. Not sure exactly why, but I just never warmed to it. The song kind of meanders along with no real differentiation between verse and chorus and yeah, just didn’t work for me

    That shakes up the top of the table a little... :eek:

    Since seeing them live a few years ago I have become a big fan.

    Colter Wall – The Devil Wears A Suit And Tie





    This is a brilliant choice, playing to my love of a country track as well, love the guitar work here and it just gels well with the lyrics. Great choice. Why wasn’t your first category entry something along these lines!!!

    You might argue this should be higher given the theme being hit probably better in this track than any other one. Sadly, it’s just not any good. Frankly, it’s annoying. Soz, not for me.

    This is one of those times when you see the song title and go ‘oh interesting I’ve never heard that before’ – then the beat kicks in and you’re like… well duh! Yeah this is a great fit for this category and a fabulous song to boot. Great choice!

    Roy Buchanan – The Messiah Will Come Again





    I’m afraid this one just didn’t work for me. I especially feel bad given it seems to be the same entrant finishing around the bottom each time around but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. I just don’t see the point in this, some lad doing a bit of talking over some music – sure give me a music career then lol. Not something I’m into at all unfortunately for this entrant. And it’s far, far too long to the point where you wonder what the point of it all was.

    Easily the best song submitted. Arguably one of the most on theme songs submitted. Ticked all the boxes and was never really going to move from top spot.     I quite liked that :D
    Very Pink Floydesque guitar, which is always a good thing, and I lie a bit of spoken word in songs. Poor purpley :p
