Again addressing absolutely nothing in the post.

Duck and dive as much as you want

    No avoidance here.

See the umpteen posts proclaiming that a do-nothing strategy is a winner. That's avoidance for you.

are outpatient apps being stopped anyone know?

Last I heard was Tallaght hospital had stopped elective surgery, I haven't heard of any others following them.

So I had a lovely hotel booked for the weekend and was hoping for some nice chilled out drinks in the residence bar, guess that’s a no go now, right? sounding selfish but I’m a Carer to a family member who needs 24/7 care and it’s my Birthday the weekend. Best I cancel if there’s tons of restrictions in place for hotels.

If your family member is in the vulnerable category then you have a hard decision to make.

Nope. That is a thread discussing few of them. Most of the "experts" there completely dismiss chinese and russian effort. All you can see there is the church of oxford, moderna and astra.

    No avoidance ??

You've avoided the whole good Friday agreement which has been pointed out multiple times in relation to your want for a hard border.

Your shouting and roaring to do something while offering absolutely no practical solutions.

You dismissed an international treaty as a bit of political paper. You've absolutely no understanding of international law and just talking out your backside

There are literally millions of Irish passport holders across the globe.

That doesn’t mean that they should be entitled to during the ongoing pandemic just rock up here. Sorry.

I'm taking about Irish citizens, not specifically Irish passport holders.
And to deny entry to Irish passport holders into Ireland is unacceptable.
Unless that's another piece of paper some on here are willing to tear up.

Ok, I can't disagree with you there. If genetics come into play then yes, it can spread just as you mention. I will say it's at a much slower rate, but you've certainly made a point.

CF is in my family, i know a lot about I’ve researched it beyond all scope of possibility. I got lucky I was born healthy and well, but both my sisters died from CF One 8 months, one 9 years of age. that’s why I’ve been more than anal as I’ve had to be with every step I take in life since this covid hell... my parents have been through enough...

I think they mainly discuss vaccines which can be approved by EU regulators.
I can piss into a vile and say it's a vaccine. Unless it's approved by an EU regulator it won't be shot into your arm.

Listen, I don't give a flying fook about bits of paper. The reason I don't, in this case, is because the virus doesn't.

You can have your bits of paper and a virus that is ruining the country, or you can have alternative bits of paper and a strategy to kill the virus.

    Your choice.

The practical solution is to eradicate the virus from the country.

This is totally off topic and I don't even know what side of this disagreement I'm even on because I couldn't be arsed to read the whole thread.

BUT. This is the finest example of internet-hardassery I've ever seen.

You can't use a phrase like, "the cat got your tongue?" in a text conversation.
I mean wtf, that phrase is used when someone goes silent after you've made your point.
You can't use it on a post on a forum because the person you're talking to hasn't even been able to see what you've said yet. What you're saying didn't even exist until you hit 'submit reply'.

Did you think they could read what you were typing live? In real time?
Did you pause for a moment and wait for them to type something?
Were you trying to sound condescending? There were far better ways.

Do you even understand how this works?
Has the pandemic driven me so crazy that this matters to me?
Why do you hurt me like this?

Time for you to lay off the G and Ts and go to bed pal.

My prediction is that there'll be massive numbers tomorrow and that will be the "justification", we'll be at level 4 from Tuesday 00:00h, but there'll be no improvement in two weeks and that will send us hurtling to level 5. By then, the unions will probably have kicked up enough of a stir that schools will be closed for the month, planned until mid-Nov.

There'll be faffing around about reopening again but the numbers still won't be low enough and the decision will be made to keep things closed until after the Christmas holidays.

Let's meet back here in Feb to regroup k? Enjoy the new year.

Bits of paper, a bloody international treaty, you might not care about it but powers higher than you do. International law trumps the lot no matter how much your talk nonsense about it.

So you want alternative bits of paper ? So rip up the GFA is it ???

Christ your utterly clueless, "bits of paper".

I have no experience with CF and pray I never do.
I think the issue is when we get death announcements, we hear people say we've normally 80 deaths a day, what about them etc...
We hear about car crashes etc....
It's a covid thread, about covid etc... That's not to be dismissive about other deaths.

Are you going to defeat the virus with your precious bits of paper? No, you aren't.

Are these bits of paper standing in the way of defeating the virus? Yes, they are.

You can have the bits of paper and a virus, or not.

    Easy choice no?

If the government ever take the step of ignoring NPHET advice we are heading in a very dangerous direction. MM and Leo might seriously need to treble up on security.

I agree. However say some have good headstart and if proven working why would have EU regulator problem to approve them?
Because it is politics and money.
Say hypothetically all chinese, russian and western vaccines will work (sci-fi scenario). Do you think EU regulator will approve Chinese one which most likely come at a fraction of price? Not going to happen. Governments already pre-purchased millions of doses of something which does not exist yet and nobody even knows if it will work. Not to mention that EU regulator is still out of picture despite multiple purchase orders placed.

Do something or do nothing. Easy.

It's like getting a spoilt brat to eat vegetables. They'll get hungry enough eventually that they'll eat anything.

Let's see how precious people are when this shytstorm is three times worse come next spring.
