Bus 3 of the day. No bother getting on without a mask. No request to wear one.

Coronavirus is well gone from the community in Ireland.
The virus is gone buddy, give it up. The horse you're flogging is dead, the RSPCA is on its way.

Was it you that was saying you were a doctor a few months back? Handy 9-5 shift in the hospital today?

If they bring in mandatory use here; a €500 fine for not wearing one, for example, then any enforcement concerns go away. The shop can ask people to mask up and if anyone refuses you just point at the CCTV and tell them you'll report to the Gardai.

Who'll be down to the gaf sharpish with a FPN for you.

The smart money then is in the shop who provides a mask dispenser at the front door where you buy a mask for €1, but get €1 off when you get to the till.

Or just don’t let them in/serve them

Was in lidl greystones yesterday, loads of space, not many customers, but I wore my mask as I have been since April. Guy joins the que at the till behind me, no mask, coughing all over the place, not even raising his hand to his mouth. Looked a right scrote.
Wtf is wrong with these people? It's obvious to me that very strict enforcement is needed for a certain element of our society. The responsibility is with us to get on top of this pandemic and people like him are the reason we aren't.
Really hoping my local shops are making people wear masks from today, if not I'll be leaving because sh1t like that yesterday is not worth me risking my health. Safe shops will get my custom.
Reading the comments over the last few pages here would push you over the edge, absolutely madness. These people need help. Kanye west ain't the only fool living in another universe that's for sure.

Aren't there exemptions in the guidelines though, how can a shop owner/worker know that somebody doesn't have COPD or asthma?

Never claimed to have been a doctor. Never heard of a doctor doing a 9-5, bar maybe a GP. There was another poster who was a doctor a few months ago, he did an AMA.

We do have to put up with some idiots in society. I'm kind of getting fed up of it.

Don't want to wear a mask, but also don't want to pay the fine?

Easy: conceal your identity... with a mask.

I was in Dealz the other day with a staff member openingly coughing repeatedly around their stand with hand sanitzer

6 new cases today out of a population of 5,500,000.

11 people in hospital with Covid, 8 in ICU in the ROI

    It’s hardly fking rampant.

I wonder how many people are currently in hospital due to motor crashes, I’d be willing to bet it’s more than 11. Should we ban motor vehicles??

But at least you now admit it is still an active virus.

Monday reporting numbers generally suffer from the weekend lag. Need to wait for tomorrow's/Tuesday's before drawing a conclusion. The numbers are lower than last Monday's which is a good sign. But that's due to them being on top of tracing and containing clusters of outbreaks. Still think pubs/mass gatherings are a bad idea as they'd lose the ability to contain the clusters.

Some people have a very short and selective memory. Must be great codding yourself, no worries then.
Wouldn't want to look back at the figures and find any similarities from the early phases of it's spread and today. Best not to do anything at all, even something as small as wear a mask, na f that, why take the chance you'll actually help? Good men these freedom fighters.

Leaving aside the absurdity of the comparison - absurd because car crashes do not have the capacity for growth that infectious diseases do.

That said... we banned drink driving, learners driving unaccompanied, driving without an NCT on public roads.
Similiarly we didnt ban smoking but we did ban smoking in enclosed publc spaces.

Sadly many people have no memory or one like the proverbial goldfish. Elections bear this out

I imagine most of the eejits moaning about masks likely are against or dont bother following these rules aswell.

There was a study showing that refusal to wear masks was linked to lower intelligence tbf.

    Same.

As for exemptions, I have severe asthma and still wear a mask. I cope. If anything, having asthma is all the more reason to take every precaution you can against Covid19.

As far as I'm aware, the virus doesn't read letters and won't bypass me by because of an eligibility for exemption from wearing masks.

Here or there? 19 states have even tougher mask laws than we do.
I think only 3 states have no mask rules.

The pro mask crowd think they're invincible once they've got a rag over their mouths, they're throwing social distancing and good hygiene out the window. They don't give a **** about anyone else once they've got a mask on. Dirty bastards.
