Why does social distancing always have to go "out the window".

Pyjamas and tracksuit brigade out in force ruining all the good work. Place needs to be shut down ASAP. Make an example of it.

It's the shutting down that causes crap like this.
Had they remained open all along, just like a large Tesco etc. then you don't get this big bang of everyone wanting to do 1 specific thing on a specific date, like other idiots queueing for Ikea, or woodies, or McDonalds in their cars.

Supermarkets proved that shops are not some death palace.

Closing absolutely everything introduces these unnecessary large crowds further down the road.

The shops need to rethink. Over charging, no customer service , so why go there

I find retail in Ireland about ten points above what I experience in other countries. Having lived in 3 other countries over the last decade.

Can people not use their heads and go in 2 weeks when it calms down. The virus is not gone anywhere. We all have a part to play in making sure that things remain open and steady.

As much had to be shut down as possible to control the spread. If there was no action the HSE would have been overwhelmed and we would still be in the throes of crisis today.

It's natural for people to do this and it will subside. Next point of outrage is SCs on Monday!

Im hearing stories about cafes and petrol stations not allowing customers use the toliets due to fears over covid-19, this is in a county where there were hardly any cases the last 3 months. peoples names being taken as they queue outside shops. Ridiculous carry on really. It is putting people off going shopping, that will be great for the economy im sure.

We need to remember that shops have been closed for a quarter of a year. There are lots of services that weren't deemed as essential but are still very important. Now there is a huge demand for these services. And its not always people just going shopping because they have nothing better to do. On top of that, the 2m distance and limiting the numbers allowed in also causes large queue's. This often gives the impression that a shop is way busier than it actually is.

Life didn't stop for the 3 months that we locked down. And thats the reality. As individuals and as country, an avalanche of issues has built up.

There are a couple of garages near me that have toilets have have been and are still closed "due to covid".
I'm not sure if they have any plans to re-open tbh.

It is a genuine issue. My parents aren’t going to be able to go into town, or really go anywhere, for as long as there are no toilets available. And it doesn’t seem like this is being addressed at all

Has anyone ever asked the question to Tony?

Yeah its an issue, I've got a 6,4 and 18 month old. the 18 month old is in nappies but the other two need toilets.

If we went into town tomorrow for a walk around, i know there's the portacabin toilets now but think how many publicly accessible toilets are out of commission.
all Mcdonalds/BK/Supermacs/Cafes/Restaurants/Pubs/Shopping Centres and i assume some hotels are closed/refusing access to non residents.

Even where i live, there's two parks that i take the kids to regularly, playgrounds are opening today, but i have no idea if the toilets that are there will be opening. In both places lots of older people who may decide they don't want to go if the toilets are closed.

Im not sure. is this something businesses have been advised to do or are they choosing to close the toilets themselves?

It’s going to be a massive problem but another one created by the dithering and constant fear around Covid. Should all be personal responsibility- bring your own wipes if you need to wipe down the bogs etc. Or stay at home. All public toilets should be opened immediately

M9 services Circle K are open fine if anyone needs them. Might be a good idea to post open ones here for people.
Many people with medical issues need regular access to a toilet

That's more of a Simon question and he'll respond quickly enough on it if asked! All of these things are subject to review as they say and we can expect changes once people get used to what's going on. The 2m to 1m is likely to be the biggest question for the next phase.

What a waste of taxpayers money. 6/7 Gardai around 1 Penneys?

Our govt must be either loaded - or Gardai have absolutely nothing to do.

In both cases the waste is building up dramatically.

Surely someone in the Dail must bring this up?

PS barely any social distancing in the queue, surprise surprise, at 0:12 see a group of 10 teenagers huddling.
