Nice deflection attempt from my post re Ginger n Lemon. You might want to consider that without your whataboutery.

I hope you wear a mask during your "visits".

Ah lighten up and have a laugh.
You can’t expect to post a screenshot of an open tab titled “Escort Ireland” and not get a slagging :)

I’m fairly sure anyone signing a petition can type any name they want.

It could have been anyone on this forum that did that for a wind up.

    Sad really.

And from what I can see from actually looking at that website the only way you can see the signatures is if you actually sign the petition yourself and coincidentally it’s the very last signature on the screenshot...

    Hmmm...

Mod: alright - quit it with the pisstake and let's get back on topic.

So what are you suggesting pal?

I have a screenshot saved of your name on that petition. I don`t know how to post it here (if some one else can do it then great) but if anyone wants to look at that site your name is definitely there near the end of the signatures list. Unless there is someone else who describes himself as Ginger n Lemon boards.ie addict on that list.

Jeez you’ve little to be at, bud. That fairly came back to bite ya on the arse now didn’t it 😂

Nope not at all. All it does is display the mentality of many of the **** all restrictions brigade. In fact those childish immature posts actually speak volumes about their mindset and confirms my opinion of many of them.. Sad to see but not surprising really.

If I get hit by a bus and the driver has Covid-19 does my death count as Coronavirus??

No. George Floyd tested positive post mortem and of course his death was not counted as COVID.

Ah now, could you imagine trying to pass off the more dramatic death as Covid 19.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,513 ✭✭✭bb1234567

Did somebody suggest that it was?

Multiple people have indeed suggested that any death of anybody who had COVID would be counted as a covid death. Of course violent deaths, car crashes or any death of that nature would not be counted as a covid death, an extreme example but Floyd indeed tested positive and COVID was not listed as any kind of cause of death on his death cert , obviously. So the 'if i fall down the stairs and die and have covid will my death be listed as covid' nonsense can stop

I won`t be flying on Ryanair anyway which should be good news for you based on your previous posts.

I prefer Aer Lingus and just about anyone else. But I do appreciate that Ryan Air provides opportunities through low fares for people to travel who may not otherwise have that opportunity.

Anyway, stay safe, stay at home.

Considering your username, that surprises me.
For what its worth, I prefer Ryanair, they both provide the same service, Ryanair just get on with the job, moving people from a to b. Aer lingus move people too but think they're better than everyone else.

Back to covid, I see this morning that the UK are reporting a major contraction in their economy.
Hopefully by opening up sooner than planned we can prevent a worst case scenario here.

Myself and the CEO of Ryanair have a few things in common including being from Cork although he is East and I am West. I am a fan of his though.

What worries me is the potential avalanche of business failure particularly in retail. Yes retail has been challenged with online business but what we are seeing (and hearing) is scary. The shutdown and the uncertainty is raising big questions on the viability of the retail sector. The knock on effects of this is unemployment particularly for under 25’s will be profound.

The poster above who pointed to this being an opportunity is right - it is. But the Government needs to create the conditions to make it happen. Will banks lend? Have we become over-regulated? Can we quickly roll out Govt. supports? I would love to see some creativity and I think we should really start thinking green in terms of sustainability of business and society

Ive missed so much yesterday :( One thing is for sure I am on my way to becoming a celebrity.

    Good news

Coronavirus: Ireland now recording ‘almost zero’ new cases with no hidden clusters

Ireland has “almost zero” new cases of Covid-19 and all indicators of the disease are either stable or declining, three weeks into the easing of restrictions, public-health officials have said.

Vowing to “go as low as we possibly can” towards eliminating the disease, chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan said he did not believe there were hidden clusters “out there”, separate from the small number of daily cases now being reported.

Hairdressers re opening quick is also a good sign but I wudve expected more talk on 2 metre social distancing reduction.

And what if the wearing of masks is made mandatory in certain situations as is looking increasingly likely going by official statements? Do you still intend not to wear them?

No alternative if that's the case surely? And you're right, looks like it's coming down the tracks fast. Increasingly the main topic of conversation.

The hairdressers re opening quicker has not actually been given confirmation by Harris etc. He specifically stated in dail yesterday that a decision will be made late next week. That is ridiculous, hairdressers will be working from an appointments base not like a retail shop as such they need to contact clients etc. to book them in. They need early notice of the opening date not a quick "hey look we opened them early aren't we great" from the government so they can hedge their bets with voters. They can say "hey we were careful etc. but we also managed to look after businesses" to appeal to both types of voters.

A load of BS, if you are changing decisions do them timely in relation to the type of business, if you feel you don't have enough information then stick to later dates, but don't open/don't open/open.

Some hairdressers, including my own, have been compiling waiting lists for bookings, so will be ready to go once they get the green light.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're made mandatory in certain situations with the June 29th easing of restrictions.

If that is the case it would mean we could essentially reopen everything on that date and scrap the July phase

The shops need to rethink. Over charging, no customer service , so why go there
