Really? Strange isn`t it that after the GE results that most FG politicians and certainly Leo wanted to go into opposition. Explain that one.

These hereditary peers.....they're liable to say anything :D

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Economic fallout out will be huge regardless when there is no one to trade with.

And if it's not brought under control no one is going to trade with us anyway.

The argument on economic grounds is a red herring.

People encouraging these extended lockdowns love saying the economy is screwed anyway, as if that's one state of being. The economic fallout can be 2/4/6/8/10/20% depending on what we do, the difference between those figures in actual levels of enemployment and national debt is massive. So saying there is going to be economic fallout regardless doesn't mean we shouldn't try to keep that fallout as low as possible

No thats just not true. Tomorrow marks a fortnight since Spain allowed 300k workers back into construction hardware etc to restart economy. We are being unnecessarily restrictive and damaging for little reason

If the restrictions have to stay in place because they are not yet up to the required testing then people will be very pissed off
For weeks now we are hearing that testing and tracing has to be in place . Then bloody well get them in place

Locking people up for months won’t keep some people alive. Peoplsbmental health can only be pushed so far

Odd some seem to think that only Ireland is facing the ongoing threat of this pandemic.

Perhaps you haven't seen the news recently?

Im struggling to understand the rethoric that the current restrictions are the undoubtedly only way to reduce the effects of Covid. It is clear to see that Sweden have implemented an approach which is preserving life and economy. I've seen response's here to say Swedish death rate is higher per million than neighbour's of theirs but frankly that's totally irrelevant, as the reason the restrictions were implemented was to allegedly prevent hospital's having to admisinster battle field levels of triage and hundreds of thousands dead. The restrictions were introduced because of inherently flawed models and Sweden is the proof. Weather restrictions are lifted or not on Monday, nobody can prove they are the most efficient method of Covid protection

Sweden will be one of the few countries with a high level of immunity in the community, which makes it easier for them going forward. When Ireland reopens there will be much less community immunity.

True and we should be seeing a massive spike in numbers now after two weeks, but we aren’t.

With increased unity there'll be an opportunity for community immunity.

They know the game is up so I expect it Monday night, just so they can get as much as they can out of their celebrity status.

Most things will start to reopen next week, either legally or via the back doors, hair salons, barbers etc.,

    In fact its already happening.

    Thes

Does this justify an an answer? Are you serious? Is transparency just not required in any form.? Just wait and see and perhaps some wet Monday in July Dr Tony will say Italy looks good so we will reopen barbers??

People won't accept an announcement that says 2 more weeks of the same restrictions.

Leo has been threatening it but he knows he won't get away with it.

will most likely be Monday, if they announce any ease in restrictions (which I think they won't) they won't want to do it friday just in time for the bank holiday weekend.

If they do ease restrictions it will probably be something so mundane thats eased just to give them another 2 weeks.

I'm not complaining about it, if it has to be done then so be it. But I understand the approach they are taking.
There is clearly to many people taking the piss, or at least enough people taking the mick to start a spread again.

Went by a checkpoint today just before the red cow junction. Alot of cars been turned around... its actually surprising because you'd think if you were going to take the piss and go out on a non essiantial drive you'd at least make up a bull**** story why your out.
