I wonder does the lack of fighting ability of the US's local allies make a war less likely. The Saudi's have proven themselves to be the worst fighting force in the region in their war in Yemen. Their ability to lose every time they encounter even lightly armed forces is astonishing. They have lost huge amounts of weapons and war material including top of the range western equipment. They often abandon it on the battlefield after the first few shots and leave the sandal clad Yemenis to burn or blow it up.

The Kurds who are confined to the north east of Syria did a great job of defending their land despite regular attacks on their positions by America's other great ally in the region, Turkey.

The SAA, Hezbollah, and the IRG are largely responsible for clearing the rest of the country thus far. Hezbollah and the Lebanese Army have also done Sterling work defending their own borders.

Hopefully in the near future there will be a formally established Kurdish state which is recognised by the international community without harassment from Syria, Turkey, Iran or Iraq.

I remember you thinking the Syrian "civil war" would be over in no time back when you were cheering for the 'Free Syrian Army/moderate rebels'. In reality you were cheering on the various incarnations of Al Queda, just like Isis which is just another franchise of wahhabi terror. The white helmets, great bunch of lads according to you, and that slob in a semi d in Coventry that called himself an observatory.

The bulk of the conflict was in the large urban areas, not the north eastern desert.

They also are not boxed in and can launch missiles from other areas and locations across the middle east.

This Shahab-3 missile was fired successfully and travelled 600 miles across Iran and this would reach all US based bases in the gulf region. Shahab-3 MRBM variant is the alleged missile fired and tested here can travel 1200 miles and this would pose a risk to UK bases in Cyprus.

North Korea tested short range ballistic missiles and while considered a threat, there not ICBMs. There only designed to penetrate defences in South Korea. Similar like tests were carried out in May 2019.

Russia and China were involved. They were conducting a military exercise or incursion together. Russian planes went further in and entered Korean airspace and 300 warning shots were fired by South Korean airforce. This is bad news for America, if Russia and China are working together to undermine US military dominance in the region.

Crimea was Russian for hundreds of years until 1954 when Khrushchev decided that Crimea will now be part of Ukraine without consulting a single solitary citizen of Crimea. But if you think Khrushchev's decision was 'democratic' and a free and impartial process I won't argue with you.

Quick question...... how far Back in time do we have to go before it’s decided who is the rightful territorial owner? Khrushchev was the leader at The time, he signed off on the transfer. It was Greek before the Russians got there, does that mean The Greeks should be allowed take it back?

Really nope what have been you watching lately. Shooting and destroying military drones, tankers on fire, increased tension between navies in the region, Iran and UK doing piracy of tankers, increased Iranian enrichment of uranium. He is done nothing here to solve the crisis, he made it worse. Trump played this one stupidly and can go either way now. Trump after all blinked first and to be honest i think he made a wise decision, he be involving himself in far bigger war than the Iraq war. Soon or later Iran willl react even more severely if they try to cut their oil shipments to China or India. Iran already warned the build up of US and UK warships in strait of Hormuz is a provocative act, they might move to counter it if tensions keep up. Right now there is a slight decrease in tension, but only takes another trigger event and we back to crisis mode again.
