I clearly wasn't asking you. I'm interested in the views of the poster who raised the BDS legislation in the US as to their views on the Irish legislation.
    oops sorry.

Why are you posting on an Irish site if living in the states? Are you coming back home again?

    -_-

Yes. I am Irish. Both my parents are Irish and born here.

There are Irish Jews you know.

    They weren't even asking you.

    FOCUS.

Very true, but many people have adapted to condemning israel as a method of venting their hatred for jews. I am no fan of israel in any regard but Omars voting consistently against helping israel and her comments on israel are a dog whistle to her muslim supporters inherrintly held anti-semitic views.

Really. How do you know the true motivations of those who are using the occupation of lands, the embargoing of medical and food supplies, the removal of energy and water supplies is actually done in order to complain about what they really hate which is the religion?

Are you living in Ireland - genuine question.
No. I live in the US (in Molly Maguire country), but I can claim Irish citizenship by descent as at the time of my birth my mother was an Irish citizen.

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

I'm sitting in my office in the Dublin docklands at the minute, about to get out and enjoy the sunny afternoon with a few scoops. As I said, I live 6 months in Dublin 6 months in L.A., I hold current practising certificates in law in California, Ireland and England & Wales and I work in a multi-national commercial industry which affords me a relatively broad view of the world (since you brought up your law and philosophy degree earlier, I figure full disclosure on my end).

Because they threaten me and call me a kike. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/i-have-never-seen-so-much-hatred-for-jews-says-filmmaker-on-derry-bars-antisemites-38016143.html

Or say Hitler didn't kill enough jews.

She's a nasty piece of work. She said Trump was lying about there being a humanitarian crisis at the border and then when it became undeniable she whined and said that congress would treat dogs better. Even though the day before she and 94 other democrats voted against allocating Trump the much needed $4.4bln emergency funding. Yeah, their empathy is real genuine.

And look at this. Does this sound like someone who is just about conveying the truth to her followers and the electorate?

Just curious as your views on BDS and Israel as a whole wouldn't be commonplace in Ireland at all.

If she didn't say them why did she apologize?

As for conservative websites even a stopped clock is correct twice a day.

I'd say its more to do with their land being occupied by the State of Israel in contravention of international agreements than an inherent hatred of the religion.
Jews are being targeted here in the US by select groups... quite a ways away from Israel. Wasn't it the land of Jews before being occupied by others?

You can ignorantly accuse me of "whataboutism," but what it really is involves identifying similar scenarios in order to see if it holds up when the shoe is on the other foot!

I understand that, but this is a thread dealing with the US and viewpoints of Americans is germane to the discussion.

The politician you wouldn't even know about if Trump didn't decide he can use her for his campaign is threatening to you. You were probably profiled as a white terrorist for a year but you only now discovered it's because of her statements. Your suffering must have been immense.

Oh I knew about her. But what would you know? I have family in new York and Florida. I travel over frequently enough. She is well known for her refusal to condemn Muslim terrorists and anti Semitic tropes, and hatred of Israel.

A lot of people hate Israel, that doesn't mean they hate Jews.

Most people in Ireland are neutral or uninterested in Israel and Palestine.

Some who are very into politics partic nationalist or socialist politics are very anti Israel in the extreme. Not all of them but many are very antisemitic.

But on the whole its not an issue many Irish people are that interested in despite what twitter tells you.

In other words she is left wing version of Trump. A bit better looking and smarter.

Another post which was part of an interaction which you were not involved in. Responding to posts out of context like this is a recipe for disaster.
Really, I don't know are you doing this deliberately at this stage.

I imagine you are not enjoying this thread.
I'm logging off now and going for some fresh air. Maybe you would benefit from doing similar.

A lot of people hate Israel, that doesn't mean they hate Jews.
Why is it OK to hate Israelis?

And I would argue if you hate everything about Israel you really hate jews.

Yeaaaaah - selectively quoting without the context. Again - we can all see the full unedited video.
HASAN: A lot of conservatives in particular would say that the rise in Islamophobia is the result not of hate, but of fear. And legitimate fear, they say, of quote-unquote “jihadist terrorism” — whether it’s Fort Hood, or San Bernardino, or the recent truck attack in New York. What do you say to them?

OMAR: I would say — our country should be more fearful of white men across our country, because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country. And so if fear was the driving force of policies to keep America safe, Americans safe inside of this country, we should be profiling, monitoring, and creating policies to fight the radicalization of white men.

She is not an anti-Semite: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/chasemadar/ilhan-omar-anti-semitism-load-bearing-myth

It actually proves her point about the power of the Zionist lobby that her statement with regard to said lobby is anti-Semitic. It's very odd for legitimate posters on an Irish website (and presumably Irish) rushing to call someone critical of Israel and, in particular, sections of extreme Zionists and the lobby of Zionists in the USA an anti-Semite when such views are widely held in this country vis-a-vis Palestine.

Lol. That’s just a sheet twisting in the wind…

We fully understand the context she put it in. It doesn't make a difference to us we feel the same way about it.

Are you opposed to views regarding the US presented by people not living in Ireland?

This website targets me with advertising from US companies, so they're making money off me. Seems the only color (nationality) Boards cares about is, as we say in the US... "Green."
