That message has been identified as originating from a weird pro life group...Hopefully they arrest those responsible.

    That's horrific. My word.

May not necessarily have been a GDPR breach - you'd be surprised how often a family member gets an attack of conscience and off their own bat goes and contacts one of these organisations.

Should still be followed up by the DPC and HSE though. They should have logs of every time a patient file is accessed (though they probably don't), and if there is this kind of virus in existence at any hospital, it needs to be eliminated. It undermines the entire system.

HSE aren't much use in my experience - have reported an error in my personal data to dpo@hse.ie and didn't even get an acknowledgement.
Still it's the first step, the DPC can be contacted if the HSE don't respond in an appropriate manner.

Off-topic but I could rail for days about the HSE, it's 'accountability processes' and the office of the DPC. Summary: avoid these lazy dumb good-for-nothing civil servants, don't expect to get anything good out of them ever, they just guard each other's backs.
Don't do anything through e-mail. Letters, demanding a written response, with confirmed delivery and *maybe* you'll hear something.

I’m in a facebook group with circa 30k Irish women, mainly made up of mothers.

Tonight a woman posted about how she had gone for a medical abortion in Holles St on Monday. It was straightforward, no complications, and she was discharged from the clinic.

Today she got a phone call from a man who confirmed her name and address, who told her she needed to return to a clinic for a follow up appointment and further scans.
Shortly afterwards, she received a text with details and directions to her follow up appointment from an 089 number.

She was confused because it contradicted what she had previously been told so she rang Holles St to see if there was a reason she had been called back.
They had no idea what she was talking about, there was no appointment.

So she rang the 089 number and when the man realized he’d been caught out, he gave her the height of abuse, calling her disgusting among other names and asking did she not know what risks she was taking with her choices.

She rang the guards to report it and unfortunately it seems that she isn’t the first woman this has happened to in the last week or two.

Someone in the health service is leaking private, confidential patient information to the Love Boats gang who are then using that information to try to intimidate and harass women into not having abortions.
Just when you think they can’t stoop any lower.

Here’s a screenshot of the text the woman received; she posted the full number but I have blurred it out so it doesn’t get deleted by Boards.

I’m not familiar with Dublin but would love to know what’s at the address she was given.

How anyone can defend or respect the pro life movement after this is absolutely beyond me.

    Streetview gives this:

    CA560-D65-31-B0-443-F-AD94-3-D8-FFCB052-FF.png

I really hope confidential information isn’t being leaked. :( What a violation if so.

It's the blue door rather than the yellow building, or so I could gather from a few google searches.

The website for the Yellow Building is poor and hasn't been updated with the change in law from January but I'm pretty sure it's legit.

Indo claiming that Simon Harris has instructed the HSE to investigate.
    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/hse-to-investigate-alleged-leak-of-patients-details-after-abortion-at-dublin-maternity-hospital-37770171.html

I'd expect nothing to come of the HSE investigation. Investigating their own, isn't their strong suit. Somone(s) in the HSE leaked the data in my opinion. Even if discovered nothing will happen to them.

Doing the Lord's work in their opinion for most I'd say. Sad sure, but potentially dangerous also.

    No, I agree, completely dangerous.

It's not the yellow office, it's the place next door apparently (in case someone got it into their head to target the wrong location).

Note - copying & pasting that URL into Chrome incognito browser gets around the pay wall. I wonder if Mr. Eamonn Murphy will be getting a visit from the authorities...

The anti-choice zombie worshipping muppets have again shown their true colours.

They behaved like scumbags during the divorce,SSM referendums so it isn't a surprise they behave the same way after abortion was legalised.

Probably just worried the pool of children for the church to abuse is dwindling.....

Much more honest than the one next to it. Questionable at best to open a rogue crisis pregnancy agency right next door to an actual crisis pregnancy agency

I dunno, even if they were prepared to defend this carry-on on 'ethical' grounds, the whole thing is so stupid and self-defeating and damaging to the image of 'pro-life', they have to admit those involved are complete tools even if they were claiming their hearts were in the right place...

I'm really not sure of that. Unless we think the guy is a one-man outfit who's not only paying the rent and utilities on that office, but also manning the phones unpaid, then someone is funding him. Or even them. So he's not that much of a maverick among prolifers it would seem.

But I agree with you that it will be disastrous in terms of public support among all but the most extreme of them. That extreme does exist though, is my point, and people need to be mindful of just how far they can go.

This is the website of the place next door. It seems legit to me if a little out of date as it doesn't mention the legalisation of abortion in ireland.

Pro-Life protesters outside Drogheda Hospital after "receiving reliable information" that abortions are taking place there today. Where are they getting this information from

OK, enough is enough. If these fcukers are stating that they are getting 'reliable information ' surely the guards can question them to disclose their source?
Who can we lobby to ensure a proper investigation of these illegal data breaches.?
