    Calling it a night meself.

Land track is too long for Dublin tonight. Elsewhere further west will have a nice dusting at least for the morning. Enjoy it where ever you are.

    Nite.

Well time to call it a day and what a day it's been for Cork!! More snow for us late tonight and in the morning then a freeze up early tomorrow evening.
Looking forward to my red alert tomorrow and Evelyn appearing on the news advising schools in the South to shut😆

You're almost trolling at this stage! For a start, Evelyn Cusack would never advise schools to close. That's not her job. She's head of forecasting the weather.

Can you please give some evidence as to why you think red warnings will be issued, based on the Met Eireann criteria? Based on current data, orange is the highest I can see it going.

Things may change tomorrow but based on current data, a red warning is not very likely. Only one criteria could potentially be met:

    3. Snow/Ice Significant falls of snow likely to cause accumulations of 8 cm or greater below 250 m AMSL. Slippery paths and roads due to accumulation of ice on untreated surfaces; situation likely to worsen.

The above is currently forecast to be extremely unlikely to occur. There could be some very icy conditions on Friday morning is some places but the situation will improve during the day.

I think I'll avoid the motorway tomorrow morning, go the old route.
Hopefully Clare County Council are gritting the road's

Isn't the motorway more likely to be gritted?

Think a few of us will wake up to a dry caster sugar dusting

I may throw out some canderel onto the bin lid to give it a head start

Does that include cork overnight ? I mean I was not expecting what we got tonight which was a very respectable covering of snow. So Would it be fair to say that it won't be gone in the morning with a bit of a top up ? I'm just thinking of the roads in estates which will be dodgy.

Just on the general loop on the radar. I think the landtrack for the Dublin area has moved from N Mayo to sligo now.

I’d say anything that has fallen or will fall in Cork will be gone very rapidly early morning. Highs of 7c in the SW tomorrow according to the 23:55 radio bulletin

Sky is turning red over the Dublin area......it's a sign...
