Lads, I'm not going to continue to delete posts discussing moderation. I've removed 5 now.

    Next one is a ban.

JK said it in his Indo interview. Still almost definitely BS though.

Yeah JK did say that, I suppose he's making 20Mil for a MMA fight now he could easily make that if the Whiskey sells well, and the fact Molloys can't keep it in stock says alot. Still think its a flash in the pan job though, its meant to taste like white spirits, when Mcgregor rides off into the sunset the idiot fan boys will stop buying it. I've seen a few Baller friends on Facebook posting pictures of it, words fail me.

My missus bought me one on a night out. Was grand with a bit of ice after a few pints. Nothing special but certainly not as bad as some make out.

I think it's meant to taste like an average €20 bottle of Whiskey but he's selling it for €35. I think that's where the issue really is, the price may come down as his star fades.

Probably that they just can't make it fast enough. Doesn't mean he's selling massive volume.
I can't keep up with the demand for my own whiskey either. I'm not making more from it than my main career though.

No, But its a goof indicator that its selling. What are the volumes it's selling , who knows. it has to be making him money though judging by the social media interest.

Very speculative to be thinking about mcgregor fighting again. He could be out of the ufc for good if the commissioners throw the book at him in his commission court case. If that happens he'll be lucky to ever get a visa again, US won't take kindly to the ruckus he caused. Khabib could get a big ban too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

It's Nevada, if you bring money to the state they won't go too hard on you. A fine and 6 months will be my guess for McGregor.

Always remember what Nevada as a state did for Mayweather - gets a prison sentence but hold on what's this? You have a fight in Las Vegas coming up Floyd? Oh well we'll just have to delay this silly prison time and let you fight! Can't let that money slip away.

Edit: Also the last time he was up for punishment from Nevada for the can throwing stuff, $150k, 50 hours community service and make us an anti bullying video which was followed by Conor saying **** you I'm not fighting in Vegas again. Ok ok, let's not get crazy, $25k fine and 25 hours community service.

They'll do just enough to seem like they're punishing him, any ban will be up by the time his hearing even happens at this rate.

Not a hope. Vegas will bend over backwards to bring him back. People have done far, far worse things than this and fought another day.

Mike Tyson literally bit Lennox Lewis's leg a couple of days before a fight in las vegas and it still went ahead. The brawl that ensued was far worse also. That's just one example off the top of my head.

Twenty years ago and not Vegas (New York) but when it comes to post fight brawls McGregor/Khabib has nothing on the Golota and Bowe one, they rematched a few months later, no fines, no bans, nothing from what I can see.

From wiki '10 arrests were made, eight policemen were injured and nine spectators had to be hospitalized'

Recent MMA one - Jon Jones and DC were scuffling in the MGM hotel lobby six weeks before their fight and the fight was still to go ahead accept for Jones getting injured

The Russian only beat him as he didn't listen to his coach (mind was elsewhere - new baby on the way etc).

Immediate rematch in Moscow was always on the cards though, let's be honest.

Good film Creed II, recommend it.

Khabib lept into the crowd and attacked a spectator. Danis being a fighter himself is irrelevant to the charge. He attacked a person in the crowd. That's why his punishment will be severe. Half a million and a ban.

Why would McGregors punishment be any way similar? What did he actually do? Get a little physical with somebody jumping the fence and then defend himself against people who shouldn't have been allowed in the octagon in the first place.

He'll get a slap on the wrist. People thinking their two punishments will be similar are insane.

True. Not sure if that's any better though.
Khabib instigating the whole thing would be marked heavily against him. He also attacked a cornerman, who was in the corner I.e "where he was supposed to be".
Cornir hit a cornermen who wasn't just bystanding - no matter why he was climbing over the cage.

I'm not getting at motives, intentions, who said what, etc. Just pointing out that Conor as at least some migrating circumstances in his favour when he's in front of the NSAC.

Time conor jumped cage to Aldo would have been alot worse only for Aldo laughing it off there could have been a fight in middle of Aldos family, if Aldo had reacted badly to him getting in his face aggressively. Danis provoked Khabib got what he deserved imo he will think twice about aggitating khabib

Danis knocked Khabib backwards and over , Danis was fine

Mconor and his trainer instigated the whole thing with their crap long before anyone jumped out of anything.

Mconor. The nations permanent embarrassment and occasional (although getting more frequent) disgrace.

I couldn't care less what happens on every card, or even how long it's been going on for. Him and is trainer crossed the line more than once and the guy clearly wasn't having it.

If he wants to write cheques with his mouth that his ass can't cash then he'll pay for it in other ways.

I'm sure Khabib was delighted with the extra cash it made him , Connor's nonsens generates pay per view money as you said talk is cheap so why let it bother you ,

Although everyone wants to win . Im sure McGregor doesn't care if ass can't cash them he still receives the money in the end of the day

Isn't that what Prize fighting is all about ??
You fight for Money, People get to caught up in legacy and all this stuff but If you look at it guys fight to make money for the families first and foremost and he has made more than most ever will so in that way its a success ,

By the way What did JK do that crossed the line ?

    1) maybe he was delighted about the extra cash it made him. Clearly he wasn't so delighted about the other crap. 2 different things. Unless now, maybe I have this all wrong and maybe both parties were in on some kind of act. I doubt it though.

    2) I said nothing of the sort. Dissing a man's family, country and religion can be just talk. To some people. This guy he decided to run his mouth off at obviously wasn't one of them.

    3) No. There's surely to it than Mconor running his mouth. I doubt people would pay money to watch that nonsense.

    4) I'm almost sure I saw an exchange on twitter between him and the Russians trainer where he made derogatory remarks regarding his religion. Now if I have that wrong fair enough I'll retract. But something tells me I don't.

What he said was that being a muslim is not a great religion for a fighter because of Ramadan taking them out of training and competition. Now could someone take offence to that? sure but he is looking at it from a coaches perspective.

Well clearly he wasn't happy about it. That doesn't mean he was right to assault somebody. Simple stuff.
The NSAC can only rule on the events in Vegas. As far as that discussion its viewed in isolation, afaik.

No more so than Mconor was right to go on about him the way he did. Now I fully accept that legally, you're correct.

If I went into a bar and started on some randomer with the same sh1t and got a few cracks across the gob for my troubles I'd imagine the majority of folk would say I got what I was asking for.

I don't know why people think this should be any different. Unless - because of the perceived financial benefits of Mconors stupidity - he agreed beforehand to be a willing participant in the theatrics.

Something tells me that isn't the case though.

Just once today I'd like that something to be google

Re: the John Kavanagh interaction with Khabib - it's here and in my opinion you're firmly in the wrong including him with McGregor as being derogatory towards an opponent - JK had this interaction two years ago with Khabib and wished him luck for a finish.

That'll be the last time I respond tbqh because the continued use of Mconor alone has me convinced you're on the wind up and no, something doesn't tell me that's isn't the case though

The difference there is how Conor and Ortega treated their opponents before their fights.
I know people say that's the way Conor has always been. But it's a reason to not like him and be happy when he loses.
I didn't watch too much of the build up, but Ortega always seemed pretty respectful towards Max.

And it's also the reason why Ortega is on $200,000 while McGregor received a multi-million dollar payout for the Khabib fight alone.

Did anyone else notice that there's something weird going on between mcgregor and kavanagh. So a week after the khabib fight kavanagh spoke to helwani at bellator and said "I haven't actually seen or spoke to Conor since the fight" and just said they were both busy with clashing schedules. Then last week kavanagh said he'd need to be convinced to corner him again and again mentioned that hadn't spoke or seen each other since the fight. I also see mcgregor training predominantly in sbg Naas now, a shorter commute from kildare mansion but still a bit odd. Certainly their relationship seems to be just a business relationship at best at this point. I wouldn't ever imagine GSP not speaking to or meeting up with Zahavi after a fight. Or any coach fighter relationship tbh.
