Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You have three chances at the PCT, two re-sets and one appeal.

May I ask why it took a year between your PCT ? Is it due to vetting??

Yes, due to vetting. Must also resit medical.
In my circumstances so would this be considered one of my resits even though it's of no fault if my own?
    Thanks for the info

    That is a pain.

No, it won't count as number 2 as you passed the first PCT.

I’m from the June 17 campaign and emailed to see when the offers were coming out and was told the PCT (which I passed on December 1st) was only one element of the application and I have outstanding vetting, does anyone know what this actually means? I assumed since I progressed that my vetting was fine. Have no family or anything abroad so I’m confused as to what has gone wrong to be honest.

Hey! Could I get the email addy off you? Was all your d.o.b and addresses etc correct for family members? Things like that could hold up vetting, mine is a nightmare because I’ve such a large family and it was really difficult to get correct dates of births etc

Yeah the email address for HRM is appointments @ garda.ie! Yeah I have a large family too but I had actually thought that my vetting was all completed, but apparently I was wrong! I rang them yesterday and they just kept saying the next intake is April, so I’m just going to have to accept that now.

Thanks! Hopefully, it will be sorted soon. I hope mine won’t take too long lol. Sure look it’s December now, April won’t be long coming.

Hey, where did you read that? Wouldn't mind having a look at it to see if other months were confirmed. Thanks a million!

So I got my application back via GDPR.

For anyone interested. I got recommend on appeal and still got rejected over all.

Not entirely sure the point of the appeal process. But pleased anyway they approved.

Does that mean you can’t go forward in the current campaign?

    What’s GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas.

Every time I contact them its either that there os a few things needing completion for vetting, or else that vetting is complete and they are waiting on the Commissioner to sign it off. Depends who I talk to.

As far as am aware it’s Monday - Friday 9-5 with the exception of public holidays. At the end of the 8 months you are given 2 weeks leave

Any word on when the date for the next Intake? I know People said April but just seeing if anyone has heard of a date yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 octopusprime

have heard nothing yet to say it'll any earlier or later. Don't even want to call in and see what the story is, treating it as if it could be October by the time we hear anything, and if we get offers any earlier than that it'll be a bonus!
