Goal achieved... 3.28.38. Finished strong and really enjoyed it! I thought at Roebuck Rd I was spent but got 250ml of Maurten from my wife just before turning onto Foster's, don't know whether a placebo effect but I soon got back into stride and it was a great feeling to know I had circa 20 mins from Mile 24 to break the 3.30 and was good to get in under the gun time of 3.30 too. Wave 1 was much appreciated.. much calmer starting area and nice to be able to walk straight into it and be off at 9AM.

Manchester and DCM 2019 booked... so come end of Nov it's into Ironman Cork 30 week training cycle with Manchester marathon in there too. Have enjoyed my last few years of marathon running and would love to achieve a BQ time in next 2 years as I'm in the 45-49 age bracket now and with a few kg off I think I can get a 3.15.. :eek:

What was the benefit of priority registration I wonder! Think this needs to be rectified as it seems grossly unfair...

Well after saying on Sunday I wasn't doing another one, I've now got 2 marathons booked for next year

I'm doing Manchester for the first time and Dublin again.

Disappointed to sign up priority to then find out there was a discount code today

First of all though another week or 2 rest before running starts again

I'm not normally a moaner but I'm going to email KBC and ask what the story is. Surely that discount code should go to the early bird people who registered before Oct 31st?

I've my mortgage with KBC and didnt get the code. :-(

Well it depends - was the code just for KBC customers or for the pre-sale customers who signed up before midnight Oct 31st? As already mentioned, what was the point in rushing us to sign up before Oct 31st then? There was no perk? That seems to be the confusion.

Well I’ve decided that I’m going to do Cork and Dublin in 2019 Cork is on 2 June so by my reckoning that gives me 20 weeks between them so should more enough time to do both

I entered DCM'19 for €70 about 30 mins ago,it's gone up to €80 now. Ridiculous signing up for a race 12 months out,next June would be early enough to open the registrations:(
