Solar panels and all in the houses. Can imagine the inside.

They should club together and buy it themselves so if it is so handy. :P
    of course
but the farmers surrounding are probably using the land themselves,
so it could command a high price

unless tipp coco compulsory purchase order it

Let's be honest about it. If the Council give them half an acre, it will be strewn with debris and hazardous waste within a month and their beloved horses will be consigned to a corner, exposed to the elements and only brought out for sulky racing on public roads

All that copper piping, solar panels, fitted kitchen worth a lot ripped you!

Honestly thought it was a joke listening to the headlines on the radio earlier. Tipp co council having to categorically deny they promised accommodation for horses to these people

Seriously. Just boot them off the housing list and ban them for life.

This the same council formerly of Slievenamon road where a family made homeless by fire early Friday morning in Loughtagalla 2013, with a newborn baby were told to go to the CWO by the housing department. The CWO wouldn’t be back until the following Tuesday and thrown a card with an incorrect 067 Nenagh number for homeless services.

DOS, DC. Those of you in Thurles will know this.

    To add a working family

This banana republic of hours is screwed.

How dare the government take so much of my income and waste it on sacks of human garbage like these.

The bit in bold is what got the card I would imagine.
Waste it on people who behave so badly would have been safer wording I guess.

Important lesson OP think everything you stay don't say what we are all thinking.:D

They’ll probably want to be given horses along with the land, maybe they’ll insist they come from Coolmore too, thoughbreds like themselves.

They will do what they do with every other estate they've been given, strip everything of value from it, and live in the caravan

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,933 ✭✭✭smurgen

The horses will end up in the houses, and the Travellers will be in caravans on the half acre.

That happened in hollyhill halting site.the one that also got a boxing gym built.

RTE 6 One had a snippet with Tipperary Council.

They have denied any knowledge of the "agreement". They have also highlighted that there are 900 people on the Tipperary housing waiting list...suggesting that this crowd should take it or leave it.

The Travelers declined to comment as the situation will be in the courts but have practically demanded the land and stables.

    €1.7+ Million wasted.

Excellent trade off. 122 thanks and barely a wrap on the knuckles for calling an ethnic group "sacks of human garbage". Well worth it.

Not really.put some of the 900 in the houses and put the travellers at the back of the list.problem solved.also where is the money for these court cases coming from?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,292 ✭✭✭Cunning Stunt

If the council do decide to say fcuk them and give the houses to someone else, I pity the people who would have to move in there, next door to disgruntled traveller neighbours...

..and 1.7M??!! FFS Someone is definitely on the take there!!

Travellers have a separate list to everyone else. These properties won't be offered to anyone on the main list.

135 at last count including mine.
As regards being worth it or not a yellow card is a pretty serious infraction.

    Is that true?

    Why? Cause of equality right?

education simply. surely you know that?

Travelers, by and large, simply refuse to engage in education. What can you do? Why keep throwing money at them if they keep resisting?

Meanwhile you have Deaf people who want to be educated yet are not afforded the right to be educated through our native first language Irish Sign Language, a visual language, instead being educated in English a spoken language which we can't hear at all. Why not use the money to train teachers to be fluent in and to then teach using ISL? This would help the community immensely and help Deaf people with educational and future employment prospects.

This demonstates how ridiculous state policy can actually be. One minority community refuses to engage yet are still given everything. Another minority community wish to engage and are still ignored. Go figure.

Awkward position for Tipp County Councillors now, if they give in to this they should be rightly crucified by their constituents, but if they don't they'll have the full force of the media slating them. Questions also need to be asked about how the cost of this project was justified, what kind of value for money analysis was applied when they admit they have 900 on social housing list?
