You'll have the phone before that delivery estimate updates. It took two days when I ordered my OP5 in launch day.

Interesting. Did your friend take that image themselves, and if so how did they come by the phone/software to get it? Or indeed if it's not their image, do you/they know the origins of it are trustworthy?

Still don't know if this question would put me off buying the phone as it's a big step up from my aging G3 (which often auto closes spotify if I so much as open a browser :(), and they do have their 15 days free returns that this could arguably be grounds for availing of....

Took it themselves, they get it about 2 days before (still the official product same software blah blah)

It could be a case of unlocking the bootloader causing L3, its definitely something to look out for and hopefully its L1

    ANY MORE CODES?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,560 ✭✭✭Woden

ok after much debating between this, the P20 Pro and the S9+ I've pulled the trigger on the OP6. Coming from OP3 should be a nice upgrade

I went to the pop up event yesterday evening in London to get a look at it. Preferred the midnight black but didn't end up ordering until today

What's the best way to transfer all of my apps, pic, docs etc when the OnePlus 6 arrives. I have a oneplus2 (which I will be selling once done) is there a OnePlus transfer app?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,627 ✭✭✭tedpan

I really like the look of the mirror black, but need the 256gb for dashcam and drone footage. I wonder if they'll release other colour options. The Indian exclusive 8GB 256GB Avengers model looks interesting.

flip case on my oneplus2 saved my screen for 3 years, so should be fine (hopefully)
Seems to be a good factory fitted screen protector on them to tide you over judging by the reviews.

Ive been carrying my Oneplus One in my pocket for about 4 years now and the screen is still immaculate anyway.

Battery is starting to go now and no originals to be found anywhere so I think the 6 will be my new phone, cant wait.

I'm a developer so have a a few developer friends. One sent this.

    "Security level L3"

Lets just hope it's not all the phones, and they don't force people to send the phone back again like the 5s to get the L1

Might well be something like that, as I happened across this today: https://imgur.com/gallery/glxhOYC (provenance unknown, admittedly) that at the very least looks to be from the same device model, but has better DRM support- the plot thickens!

Are the new Onoplus earbuds still free with new OnePlus 6 orders?

I heard it stated on launch but when I ordered yesterday I saw nothing on order in relation to the free ear buds?

They were never free...you got one if you attended one of the pop up events. They're available for €69 sometime in June.

    Yup, they never were.

I moved from S7 Edge+ to OP6 and loving it! Granted my screen was cracked on S7 and Android wouldn't update past 6.1 so I'm delighted to have a working screen and 8.1. I got the 8gb/128gb and it's ridiculously fast. Oxygen OS is smooth and from what I've seen so far on the camera, it's top quality.

Got my one plus 6, so far so good, much improved from the one plus 2 . Bigger screen, not sure about the finger print sensor location, might need to get used to it at the back. But the facial recognition works well with the flip case, so don't need the sensor really

I think the fingerprint sensor is only there for Android Pay, AFAIK it won't accept faces yet.

Fingerprint sensors I would expect to stay for a while yet - a number of online banking apps also allow login by fingerprint and not face recognition (and they may been no rush to expand to that either), so it's used widely enough in the general android ecosystem.

MKBHD posted his review today. Very positive on the OP6. Camera is not as good as the iPhone X, S9 etc but he does say that it is by far the best camera on any $520 phone and that the iPhone and S9 are so much more expensive they are expected to be have better cameras. He gave the OP6 camera a B+.
