I can post up a referral code from me from oneplus.com (Get 20€ off on accessories and gear when you purchase a OnePlus smartphone), not sure if its on Boards policy or not (admins can you confirm or do you want a separate thread)

not familar with these codes, is this a once off code just for one person to use or can everyone(except me) use it?

Please don't post referral codes in this thread. The threads for the OP3 and OP5 turned into a mess with everyone posting their referral links.

Maybe open up a new thread for referrals and delivery/shipping posts.

Anyone aware of any downside to buying one in Canada? My OnePlus 3 works fine when I'm over there, assume the OnePlus 6 bought there will work on the 4g bands here

It'll be fine. Just make sure it's unlocked.

    VAT is the reason...

Plus the US price doesn't include Sales Tax, which is applicable if purchasing in certain states.

I got my op5 in Canada when I lived there, only annoying thing having to get a new charger.

So any reason I shouldn't buy it from the US website?

Are you living in the US? If not and you are getting the phone delivered here, and One Plus does not include Irish Vat at the point of Sale then your phone may be stopped (I'd say extremely likely as One Plus Ship with DHL) at the point of entry and you will have Irish Vat and a customs handling charge applied that you will need to pay before your phone can be delivered.

They probably won't accept a delivery address to outside the US.

If they do, shipping will be expensive and you'll end up getting hit for customs that would be €100+

Can i get an aftermarket charger for the oneplus6 that charges at the same rate as the official dashcharger (extra one for house and also for car charging)

whats the difference in speed between a normal charger and a dashcharger?

No you can't, the chip in the charger knows when it it plugged into a One Plus device and initiates the dash charge

Note on 'compatible' fast chargers: An after market charger for the oneplus6 may have 'fast charge' but wont have 'Dash charge',(unless that managed to sort that) so the charging will take place on the phone ( so components possibly getting hot next to the battery) where with the Dash charge the charging takes place within the charger it'self so the battery stays cold

    Hi,
I am planning on buying this phone. I understand it comes with a charger and a charging lead.
I always buy a case and I usually buy a car charger so I will probably buy those again.
Is there anything else I should be buying. I don't understand the need for the screen protector. Why is that recommended? Anytime I had one on other phones they fitted poorly and looked terrible. Do they not take from the screen?
Also, some people seem to recommend extra cables but if you only have one charger what good is the extra cable?
    Tia.

Maybe to keep with the likes of portable power packs. Not that many people have the same number of spare/excess USB-C cables that they did with the old Micro-B versions.

Just thought I would post that it looks like the OnePlus 6 isn't capable of streaming Netflix and other drm apps in 1080p (Doesn't include Youtube). The op5 etc was similar and you had to send your device back to get the software updated to be able to use 1080 (Widevine DRM Level 1.. op6 is currently Level 3). Bit weird.

Got a source? Number of reddit posters (e.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/8juu4c/what_are_you_eager_to_know_about_the_oneplus_6/dz317h8/) saying that they asked at the launch event and were told no issues with widevine L1 having asked explicitly. Couple of accounts of issues on the Android P beta alright, but then you can expect temporary gaps in betas......

    "Security level L3"

Lets just hope it's not all the phones, and they don't force people to send the phone back again like the 5s to get the L1

    Quick Reminder :

As the orders go live today at 10am - you can find referral links in above thread and you can also share yours. Also that thread can be used for delivery updates etc.

I'm not sure this is technically possible. If it's not L1, people might have to go through the rigmarole again.

Interesting. Did your friend take that image themselves, and if so how did they come by the phone/software to get it? Or indeed if it's not their image, do you/they know the origins of it are trustworthy?

Still don't know if this question would put me off buying the phone as it's a big step up from my aging G3 (which often auto closes spotify if I so much as open a browser :(), and they do have their 15 days free returns that this could arguably be grounds for availing of....
