    Yes...few advantages.

    1) Hated slippery midnight black...love glossy mirror black as it has excellent grip. I dont care about fingerprints but still might put on a dbrand skin.
    2) Camera is outstanding in low light...OIS helps capture some stunning moving objects at times as well. 5T was pretty much useless without a steady hand in low light(shame when they use 2nd lens for low light photos). Slow mo at 480 fps and 4k at 60 fps worth a mention too.
    3) Notch infact is pretty cool...never thought i would say that.
    4) Camera bump is way less pronounced now...you know what i mean if u have a 5T and want to put it flat on a surface.
    5) 6 has treble support...so a added advantage for future updates.
    6) Battery is slight improvement but not a major one.
7)Higher specs of processor 845/faster internal storage(no one highlights this though).

All in all its a good upgrade...again 5T is not bad either but camera is the biggest improvement on 6...

Can anyone please explain how the trade in offer works?

I have a Oneplus 3T I want to trade up but I can't be without a phone until new one is up and running.

Do I have to pay full price on the new one 1st?

Took my oneplus6 to a wedding yesterday, the quality of the photos were superb, I lot of people said they looked like they were taken with an slr camera. Very Happy with the phone, battery life also very good, lots of life after taking photos all day

What exactly comes in the box, phone and dash charger? Some unboxing videos have covers, earphones, etc.

Phone, dash charger, cable, clear protective cover/case, some docs (which I never bothered with) and sim card remover pin

Cheers. Think I'll pick it up tomorrow. I assume the cover/case is the clear skin one?

Think I'll pick up the tempered glass too. Have never cracked a phone screen but for €20 I suppose it's no harm

You buy the phone outright, then with the order number you can start trade in application. It says it takes 2-6 weeks and you receive it as cash back.

    It's all on their site.

Trade in values are poor tho, you'd get a lot more selling privately.
Just got offered a tenner by them for my OPO, no thanks, it'll do as a backup phone.

Looks good on reviews but no rush to upgrade as I still have the 5t. Hope everyone is happy with their new phone

Meh compared to note 8, speed is the same note 8 faster booting, opening apps pretty much same thing occasionally note 8 wins.
Camera note 8 but the Oneplus is pretty good to side by side same Oneplus is pretty good and difficult to know which one took which when viewing on the PC. Haven't taken any on low light yet.

How much is the Note 8 sim free?

The S9+ is faster than the Note 8 due to its newer Exynos and Snapdragon chips and the S9+ is beaten by the OP6 in the Phonebuff speed tests.

Nowadays most phones are pretty fast so we won't notice the difference as much in day to day use.

Edit: £900 on Amazon for the 256GB Note 8.

The note 8 can be bought from just over 600 euro.

Havent had much hands on with the S9+ only played with the camera will try later to compare the Oneplus with the S9+

What storage is on that one? Do you have a link? I really liked my note 3.

I'd imagine the poster is referring to sources like E Global Central https://www.eglobalcentraluk.com/samsung-galaxy-note-8-6go-64go-dual-sim-desimlocke-noir-minuit-avec-0.25mm-protection-decran-en-verre-trempe-haut-de-gamme.html

Only 64GB storage on that one for about €610. I'd rather take the 256GB OP6 for the extra €10.

What are peoples views on the Mirror Black vs. Midnight Black ? Just a glossier finish on the Mirror Black?? Not too pushed on an extra 2GB RAM and 64GB storage, but if the finish was much better that would push me.

Still the same price (or thereabouts) as the OP6 256GB. I've over 100GB of music and photos on my OP5 at the minute so will be looking at a 256GB when I'm changing.

I think I'd lean towards the OP6 as it's more storage, newer processors and has Dash Charge.

Photos can be backed up on Google photos and music can be using Google music all free without subscription...(unless you don't like having everything backed up using Google that is)

My photos are backed up to Google photos but like having them on my phone as well.

I would back up photos on a drive...i take so much photos its unsustainable to keep them on phone tbh...

So mine turned up yesterday. Did a combination of google transfer and one plus switch to pull items off my OP3 (one plus switch could do the messages, photos and videos even though they are in google drive) so far so good although still wondering if I should have got a P20 Pro.

Anyway one question though I got the tempered glass screen protector but there is a screen protector applied. Is the tempered glass one a better one? I doubt I could remove the current one and replace it with the same quality of finish.

The official oneplus protector is good....just apply the case which came with phone and then apply the protector...shud fit nice and easy...

I prefer the plastic one as the official one comes with a border of black line which blocks some of the screen area...impacts viewing qt angles...why one plus why...they shud remove those borders as its full adhesive protector....

Any good deals on Dash chargers? Want to buy 2 or 3 but the are very expensive direct from OnePlus.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,572 ✭✭✭Roberto_gas

I would not risk buying them from outside...

Make sure you buy a genuine charger. I'd recommend buying directly from oneplus. Why risk damaging your new phone?

Yes, I want genuine for that very reason. The prices are insane!

Are they chargjng more than Apple for a phone charger?

Its because most of work for dash charging is done in the adapter...it ensures phone's battery does not get heated during insanely quick charging...

It's also their own proprietary technology and the fastest charging on any phone.

If you want a cheaper option, just buy a bog standard USB-C charger. You'll not get Dash speeds but it'll still charge fine.

45 quid delivered for a charger and a 1.5m cable delivered from OnePlus directly. Bit of a pain but I guess it's worth it in the long run.
