Claire can't control a debate. It's like an episode of Jerry Springer with the audience

Well that was highly disrespectful from one professional to another

Yeah but the angry clappers loved it

Jesus, this debate is extremely one sided at this stage; it's actually shocking.

Do you understand the restrictions imposed on RTE in chairing the debate?

Equal time would have been given to both sides.

Absolutely not petty. Grounds for losing your licence. It means you are not up to date on the law. Maria is abusing her qualifications

Unfortunately the majority of those who are No voters are horrifically misogynistic towards women, even the women No voters.

They have such a terribly low opinion of anyone who seeks an abortion because they don't want a woman who's suffering to abort a baby they don't give a bollocks about once it's born. They can dress it up all they want, but they just don't give a toss about the woman, and don't give a toss about her baby after it's born, providing it isn't aborted.

It's hypocrisy of the highest order and just further demonstrates how out of touch with reality these individuals are.

My father was filling me in on Mina Bean Uí Chroibín the other day. I was sick to my stomach. I have to wonder, are there still people like her in this country?

Did anyone notice he was trying to stifle a smile after saying that. It's like it's all just a game to a lot of people on the No side.

He couldnt believe boylan left himself wide open. Suicide..

As an undecided voter I feel the No side have come off better here

As a Yes voter, if I was undecided and watching this, I can see your point. This 'debate' has been very partisan.

Why did a gp in the audience say it then as one of their main principles? There is waffle ad infinitum in this thread.I'll believe the gp thanks

The format was wrong wrong wrong.

They shouldve banned applause or interjection and ejected violators

Equal time was most definitely not given to both sides.

    I don't agree.

The No side performed (and it was a performance) better than the Yes side. Perhaps your disappointment at the Yes side performance is clouding your judgement.

That doesn’t answer my question. That’s a cop out.
I’m getting laser treatment on my cervix. If I was pregnant this could cause miscarriage so I’m not allowed to have it. The baby would have equal right to life as me.
    No doctor will touch me.

You have said that the 8th has done good and does not effect women’s healthcare.
I’m showing you and telling you exactly how it is effecting me.

How can you stand by what you’re saying?

It is not a cop out, listen to the different doctors, they differ on opinion, and it seems the Yes doctors are far more conservative with providing treatment than No doctors are.

It was the same during the marriage equality debates. It would just turn into a complete farce while she let anyone say anything. She seems to forget she's a moderator, and just acts like a presenter.

Ya the yes side seem to have been shouted down and the no side got all the time. Even from questions from the audience seemed to be more than from the no side than from the yes

One of these being the RCSI who state
Although we may not make a public avowal of the Hippocratic oath, I am sure we make our private declarations, altering a detail here and there, perhaps.

A ****ing Jerry Seinfeld show on the 8th Amendment would have been more productive than this crap.
