I drove up to Newry from Dublin to get mine. Hour and 15 each way and cheaper than Google.

    How much did you pay?

£559. Carphone warehouse are still doing a deal whereby you can get the 128GB version of the pixel 2 for that price too but no one had any stock so I had to get the 64GB version. I couldn't go up any other time.

I've been tempted by the 64GB pixel2 xl for a while and finally bit the bullet last week. It came out as €770 on my bank statement via Amazon UK and parcel motel. Is this more than others here paid recently? Very much looking forward to it as the current Alacatel burner is as slow as a wet week. I hope it is as good as I expect.

Do they provide any protection for falls or are they basically there to prevent scratches only?

Cheers, that was a terrible attempt at a question by me.

I wouldn't be relying on any case to 100% protect after a fall but I'd like to think they can absorb some of the hit. Not too bothered about scratches on the back of a phone myself.

    Is it any use?

Even at that price point it's not really jumping out at me

Reviews are mixed, but I bought one just to play this.

The game alone sounds like it might be worth the 60 quid.

What has everyone done for a spare charger. Got caught out for the first time this weekend after forgetting it so feel like I need a second one.

Not too keen to fork out £30 but don't want to destroy my phone with a cheap knock off.

Looking at a spare charge myself. Seems to be a mine field getting the right after market one

Tempted by a few of the anker USB A to C cables as I can live without the fast charging.

Just a little concerned with all the problems with cheap alternatives I've read about.

Having to buy official accessories would put me off buying a pixel again.

You could say that about any phone make. You don't have to buy official, what makes you think you do?
I always buy Anker cables for spares and never had an issue with them. They do C to C cables too but you don't need them. This will fast charge a Pixel 2 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017VXARME

I guess the bit of research I've done has warned me off some cheaper cables so I was starting to lean towards official ones.

Same thing applies to usb c headphones.

I take it that anker charger combined with their USB A to C cables would do the job? And the same cables would work with standard USB A chargers just with no fast charge?

It doesn’t support fast charge on the pixel 2 I’m afraid.

Considering ordering the Pixel 2 XL from carphone warehouse through PM.

Can anybody give advice on how the warranty would work in this situation? Will I always have to work though Carphone Warehouse or could I get repairs/replacement from Google directly should there be an issue with dead pixels?

Anyone returned a phone to Google and gotten a replacement?

My 2 XL had a slight bend on the top left since I got it. Not visible to the naked eye but when in a case it rocks on the table. Also noticed a little imperfection in the top left corner coating too and the screen occasionally goes a little funny so said I'd call them.

They want pics of the box and phone to process a replacement. Anyone know how long it takes? Is it like apple where you pay upfront and then get refunded when received?

Otherwise it works perfectly but think I'd rather have a perfect device given the cost.
