Screen protector cut outs for the camera tend to be much larger to stop crap collecting in the little crevices.

Looks like the 3XL won't be as good speaker wise as the 2XL...would be a factor for me tbh. If I did upgrade it would probably be to just the normal 3 based on that if true.

How can you possibly make that conclusion at the moment? Phone is about 5 months away and you have one bad pic of a screen protector.

I stated if it's true quite clearly...and with that big if the top speaker looks quite a bit smaller than the current set up.

Front facing speakers are getting rarer and that looks like a retrograde step unless they do something fancy with the set up.

Have you ever seen a teardown of the old HTC's with front facing speakers? The M7/M8/M9 had massive speaker grilles, but the speakers themselves are very small. It's all aesthetics.

No I hadn't, I assumed they would be larger. My bad:)

    Really?

I use an extremely unstable Google pixel camera app on my Samsung, I love the portrait mode.

All that really irks me is the fact it has no headphone jack.

Might possibly wait out for the pixel 3 as. My issue with the s8 is being bored of it(saw no reason to upgrade to S9)

Anyone else impressed with the Pixel 2's durability?

Mine got run over by a car last week, and all that happened was the cosmetic glass pane on the back smashed. From what I've seen, it's a pretty simple replacement job, if I decide to replace it. The screen and cameras and everything else are all intact and unscratched.

I should have added that I don't use a case. It was naked when it was run over.

The customs duty won't that bad, but the VAT will be a killer.

I'm thinking about getting an XL while in New York in a few weeks but can't for the life of me find a bricks and mortar store that sells the unlocked Google phones. Has anyone on here done this? Is there a way I could order online and collect somewhere like parcel motel? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Check the retailers in whatever airports you're flying to. I bought mine in Heathrow on the way home from the states.

Yeah, although when I tried to get it there they had it in stock in T2 but not T1, so worth ringing ahead if you plan to pick it up there.

Thanks for the suggestions. The main reason I wanted to buy in NY was the saving I would make in the US vs buying in Ireland or UK. Is there any hope of getting one in US?

Just wish it was only €6-700. Anything above that for the specs is a bit of a joke.

With the Pixel 3 imminent, is there anywhere doing good deals on the Pixel 2? Also, does anyone know how the battery life on the smaller pixel compare to the nexus 5X?

Anyone know somewhere to repair a screen on a Pixel 2 XL?

Mine slipped out of my hand (fcuk you slippery Google case) and smashed the centre of the screen good and proper.
