Yeah, the Feb patch seems to have done a number on battery life. Saw lots of complaints on the pixel reddit. March seems to have improved mine (and others) a bit while not improving some peoples.

I had great battery live before the February security update. After the update, it was less than stellar. Not bad by any means, but it was really good beforehand, and the difference is noticeable.

Worth pointing out that not everyone is experiencing the problem. But check online, there are quite a few reports.

I reset a couple of times. Rooted the phone, and installed a few root battery monitor apps. Did all the usual suggestions of clearing cache/storage for Google Play Services etc. Couldn't find anything.....

After the initial reports online, Google released a statement saying they were looking into it. But they have since said they can't find any correlation between the Feb security patch, and the battery issues being reported.

I have since un-rooted the phone, and installed the March update. I think it might be slightly better (Its definitely not worse).

I dont have bad battery life now...I can get through the day on regular usage easily. But I feel a bit conned, because I could go almost two days initially without a charge.......and a lot of people online seen still to be getting great longevity, even with a good bit more screen on time.

First world problems are a bitch.

FWIW it doesn't seem to be limited to just the second generation Pixels. My Pixel seems to have gone downhill too but the March update installed yesterday so we'll see if that helps.

Been off charge for 7hrs 30 mins and currently have 2hr 55 mins SOT with 56% left, I'm happy with that! Definitely better.

Ditto, much improved after the March update.

Any case suggestions? Just ordered a panda 2 xl, Whitestone dome and a ringke fusion case for the time being.

Looking for something that won't damage the back glass.

Is the google case compatible with the Whitestone dome?

Do you mind me asking where you bought it and for how much?

Also am I right in thinking it gets 3 years of Android updates (not just security) from the initial release date?

I decided to get it direct from Google via parcel motel. It's £799 but there's £100 off at the moment so £699 total.

And 3 years from release date is correct.

8 hours with the ringke and I've just ordered the Mnml too - completely get what you're saying.

Gotta say this phone zips along. Feels a lot more responsive than the Note 8 did even with the animations turned down.

Sorry if this has been answered already but I just got a Pixel 2 and been using it for 2 days now.

All going well except for when I open an app with sound while playing spotify it pauses the music coming from spotify to play whatever app sound. I can un-pause spotify again and continue using the app but an ad will come up in the app causing spotify to pause again

I have turned off sounds and music in the app settings but this still occurs I suspect due to the ads in the game having sound

Is this something simple setting I've missed? Had been using a Galaxy S6 Edge for the past 3 years and never encountered this issue

Interesting! My pixel 2 wont arrive until Tuesday but id love a fix for this.
I have a Samsung S7 and this happens all the time, the newest open sound link overrides the previous. I never bothered search for a fix because I thought it was normal.

I purchased the Pixel 2 on on Sunday from Currys UK for 499 using parcel motel and credit card. Straight away it was cancelled. I then placed another order using parcel wizard and PayPal, order confirmed and will be delivered tomorrow!

Just wondering if your order went through and you got the phone? Can't be arsed driving to Newry but really want this phone.

Can someone with a Pixel 2 attempt to use the wifi hotspot please?
My wifi hotspot will not work at all(but BT does). I tried literally everything bar flashing a downgrade to get it working.
I would love to confirm if it is an issue with the phone/provider etc.
I am on Android 8.1.0 with Vodafone PAYG.

Just connected my laptop through my 2 XL (which arived this morning) and if you're reading this response, it's working fine.

I am having trouble training OK Google voice recognintion, but according to Reddit that's a problem with a recent update to the Google app, so I'm going to need to uninstall the update, train the voice recognition, then update again.

    Thanks for the feedback.
I can't for the life of me figure out the problem. When i put my Vodafone sim in another phone tethering works fine and when I put a Three sim in my Pixel 2 tethering works.
It just seems to be my vodafone sim won't work in my Pixel for wifi tethering.

Seems it might be an on-going issue with VF/Pixel/Tethering.....You probably already looked online, but I am referencing this for what it is worth - https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/phone-by-google/fAxl9q_JeNU

Did you chat to support who live in your phone?

I have no issues with hotspot, had a Netflix marathon there on my data a few weeks ago... :)

I have the original Pixel XL and I also can't tether to any other device, an exclamation mark comes up next to the wifi symbol on whatever device I try to connect.

Im blue in the face from contacting them, don't even waste your time with the chat on the my Vodafone app because you will actually turn into a monster from sheer frustration at their stupidity and incompetence.

I was told It's got something to do an APN I have saved in my connection settings called Vodafone.MISP that can't be deleted or altered.

I don't know how it got into my phone and they don't know how it got into my phone and the other issue with mine is every month they take whatever excess credit I have in my account and say I've been charged for using a hotspot which is ironic as I can't even connect another device.

So every month I go through groundhog day and ring them and explain everything all over again and they try the same steps all over again and just give up and refund my credit.

It's a joke to say the least.
