Played through the first Island bit and its pretty good so far. Been using the bow and pistol so far.

BTW, anyone playing if you have Netflix, watch Wild Wild Country documentary, its an interesting companion to this. After watching that, the whole thing is a lot more plausible (video gameness aside), and a lot more creepy.

Thanking that there's a colour blind mode :D

Having watched a few cult docs over the last year or so and listening to TCG podcasts on the subject, this setting is pretty cool. Haven't played FC since 2, but I'm liking this so far!

It's totally AC Origins re-skinned by the way :D

Word to wise, unless you're better well equipped and have serious back up and not only 3 or 4 hours in, going up to check out the big statue is a bad idea. :o

Brilliant craic with this so far, loving it. Have Grace as my backup and about halfway through the meter for Johns region. Anybody know what the 3 x fighters you can assign do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,930 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

I prefer exotic locations myself but at a few hours in, Hope County is already way more interesting than FC 4. I love tearing down the road in the muscle cars and equally tearing through the forests on a quad bike.

The 3 fighter slots can be filled by random people you help around the world. If they have a Hire button, press it and they will be added to your roster. They provide backup support like the main allies like grace and they all have specific perks that can unlock when they have a certain number of kills. Like one guy I have unlocked a perk to make me more hidden in long grass.

There are 9 named fighters and numerous no name lads.

Best to keep the named ones they all have perks.

Rocky Mountain Way is a great tune.

Found a group of Peggies cheering over a hostage, bear pops up behind me, bear helps kill cult, I become friends with bear, bear kills hostage, I punch bear and run away. I love the randomness in this.

Also found my first plane, said I'd head to the statue as mentioned above. Parachuted right on top of a rocket launcher. Absolute awesomeness ensued :pac:

Jumped off the cliff to what I thought was a landing point for a parachute jump, big white Eden's Gate symbol.....it was a landing point alright but not for parachute jumps :(

Its woeful with those stupid maps, hoping something useful will be made with the editor but its DM or TDM only.

Just a question re a bug or not, early on 1st area you progress until
squads are sent after you with tranqs, you wake up and John is baptising you and Joseph appears all audio fine except I cant hear anything Joseph is saying

There a trophy for playing and winning 10 "featured maps" f'n pain trying to get them to come up , even when I get map choice it's hard to get them voted for let alone win.

Some awful maps alright but played some really fun ones. I don't mind TDM, don't like DM. Mode has huge potential between more modes being added and proper maps being recognised and pushed to the front page.

I just found out by accident that if you have a gun for hire and get back in the passenger seat of a car, they will drive instead and head to the open quest or custom point you have marked on the map. Very handy.

I just got it on HumbleBundle for 45 (10% discount or something for already being a subscriber to the monthly).

Great name btw, loved that character.
FYI , they released it (Curse of Monkey Island( DRM free over on GOG in case you hadn't heard or wanted to play it again.

Played the campaign in co-op last night with a work mate and it was great craic.

Anything I cleared went towards my progression but we mainly just cleared out small buildings and road blocks and the odd prepper stash.

We both got the same loot, if i collected mine, I could point him to where it was and he'd get the same, which he didnt mind as he wasted half his cash on add ons for his ACR. :o

Its was a fun enough session but I didnt want to do many main story quests because my buddy would have had to do them himself somewhere down the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

It's such a bad oversight not letting progression for both players. It's a decent game, but I wouldn't be playing it twice.

Multiplayer is like a tacked on job from a mid 2000's shooter, right now.

It would actually be semi-ok if they allowed you to opt out of playing the user generated maps. A few of the Ubi ones are not too bad.

The single/co-op ones are fine for the most part too.

Is there match making for multiplayer?

Yeah. They're truly bad. Had to play some kids version of Nuketown twice in a row. And that was one of the better ones.

Loving this so far i have to say! about 3 hours in.

That "keep your rifle by your side" song is insanely catchy.

Picked this up in Argos earlier, €75 for the Gold which is still way cheaper than the €90 Gamestop want for the same edition. Unfortunately, every Smyths store was sold out, but I don't mind paying only €5 extra. Hopefully I can finish up Okami while the update is downloading!

    How Big is the update?

The sound track (both score and orginals songs) are out. You can get them on youtube or spotify.

Its not bad. I actually taught the hymn's were real, but I think I can be forgiven, not being Christian, they sounded enough like the real thing to me.

Got the last one in Smyths Blanch yesterday, absolutely dying to have a game later tonight, right in time for the long weekend aswell.

For TDM and DM yes, for Co-Op maps friends only from what I could see.

In a first I grabbed the prequel novel to a game and quite liked it, it's a simple story well told and fair play to Ubisoft for getting in an accomplished writer for it. now to watch the short film while the game finishes installing and then hopefully spend most of next week running around shooting cultists

The Prequel book was good, bit disappointing Mary may is missing a big feature from the book
    tattoo across her chest
unless it happens later in the game.

Hope Will Boyd can be found in the forests somewhere.

Also, I'm definitely buying me a shovel

I've a horrible suspicion I've figured out the end, based on a comment in the game by a villain combined with a sound track song. Guess I've still a boatload of hours to go to see whether or not I'm disappointed.

    It seems it's not forgotten:
she's allergic to it, and the docs notes in the clinic recommended laser removal.

I can't put this down, been a long time since I played a game this addictive
have John dead but still have "cultists" in the valley - clean up operation now in progress so i haven't gone near the others yet :D)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Step 1: Get a base ball bat.
Step 2: take 1 fast potion and 1 Furious potion.
Step 3: Hit stuff, preferably people.
Step 4: giggle like a small child.

After you kill a dude there is a rescue mission after, that ends cultists in the area.

you have to do that to clear the area.

Anyone know if prepper missions are counted anywhere?
