Graphic on TV3 news was a thing of joy, saying conditions not seen in 40 years!

"Well oi'm back latether see yez then" he used to say at the end of his forecast.

Been on and off on this all day but correct me if I'm wrong. The storm emma (I think) is on it's way but from the models, it seems that the cold is being pulled down south. Doesn't this mean that there won't be blizzard like conditions on Thurs/Fri? Or will it still be same as before as forecast by many experts here?

The Eagle very confident in his statement of snow turning to rain Friday there on radio forecast!

Will be interesting to see how ECM goes in a while

Person from met eireann interviews on TV3 news just there. Saying nothing but an over reaction, not as bad as 2010, and lowest temp recorded will be -6.

Think he could be biting his tongue in a few days from now

Completely at odds with Evelyn! Must have had different meetings!

Not much snow Friday because it will all turn back to rain

I saw a few very light flakes of snow falling around the Newtownpark Avenue area in Dublin just after 3pm today. When I looked at Met Eireann & BBC Weather forecasts on the TV last night; the snow forecasted for Friday afternoon looked very obvious on the maps. Literally the heavy snow would look likely to hit all of Ireland in the late afternoon on Friday if things are to progress according to all of the forecasts for this week.

It is hitting the UK pretty badly too.

Surely regardless of temperature it’s the big blizzard on Thursday/Friday that’s the disruptive force even if it thaws later on Saturday. And that’s not locked in.

    Did he actually say that?

I travel from London to Dublin return every 2nd weekend - is there any point in me booking a flight for this Friday night from Stansted to Dublin? Is that taking a big risk?

Whatever about the flight being cancelled, I don't want to be stuck in an airport if there's likely to be massive delays or cancellations.

He can't understand what all the fuss is about. Very dismissive.

Why would he say that? Isn’t he the head forecaster? Or one of them anyway. How can he see it so differently?

No change in the zonal winds speed forecast since I last posted it a few days ago, below average throughout. Bit of a recovery around early to mid-March then another drop off in speeds. This beast ain't going nowhere!

I think Met Eireann do a great job but we had Evelyn on earlier stating a red warning the most serious weather there can be and then the eagle seems to dismiss it. No wonder people get confused.

That's a bit odd, and maybe foolish, I wouldn't think anyone know how thus/fri will pan out yet. The Met/Government busy telling everyone to be carefull and get ready and he says chill out

    On met.ie for tomorrow...

"Cloud will increase during the day and outbreaks of rain and sleet will spread eastwards across the country."

    Surely they mean westwards??!?!?!?
