Are Pure Telecom definitely reselling FTTH, they told me on their online chat that my line doesnt qualify only for 4mb broadband even tho our area has been FFTH enabled and Eir have told me I do qualify and most the neighbours have got it installed with Eir already, currently in contract with Pure Telecom so getting FTTH with them would be preferable

Is there anything preventing you moving to eir if they can provide you with FTTH if Pure Telecom can't?

Signed an 18 month contract with them last September but they said at time as soon as area became fibre enabled I would be upgraded for free, will have to make some phone calls

Wrong fibre..they are talking about Fibre to the cabinet..FTTC up to 100Mb d/l...What is Wired outside from what you said is Fibre to the home..FTTH..up to 1Gb d/l.

They are talking about FTTH, after talking to someone on phone they say my eircode is passing but my phone number is failing, they say they'll investigate more & phone me back

Phone number is irrelevant as they install a new line..a fibre line not copper

Wait 48hrs after order (for it to appear on open eir system) then ring install appointments (open eir) 01 5366550 and see if they can schedule earlier.

I was down for install on 12th. Rang this morning and now due tomorrow morning.

Credit on this to long_b for the post with this number somewhere above #star

The Castletroy exchange isn't due to go live 'till winter 2018 for ftth - according to the map. It seems a bit mad when there is a high density of houses in that exchange area - you'd imagine it would be one of the areas they would tackle first.

There not doing high density housing near the exchanges as they can get VDSL from exchange or cabinet, this is a mainly rural rollout. They are doing the roads leading out of the town/village.

I'm living in village centre in an area that just went live and cant get FTTH, the first house to get FTTH on the road out of town is closer to the exchange than I am.

Think the map has been updated showing Carrigart exchange with 370 premises able to get FTTH 1000Mb/s.

Thanks, I waited about 3 hours before I rang and then today.

Yeah is probably too much anticipation but I thought that I would at least be on their system so I could register. I've never experienced such a delay before.

Just saw a KN Group van and crew working with a manhole open and a spool of black cable near the end of my road and near one of their cabs. They use underground duct to connect from it to the end of my road and then go overhead so fingers crossed its FTTH related :) time will tell

    Update:
Took a wander to see what they had been working at as I only passed by earlier in the car.
Looks like either cable got pulled or subduct, most prob just subduct. Some poles on my road marked. The main point which the copper cable comes from the underground section to overhead to feed the road is marked with an 'L'. I think come other poles might be marked with a C or a E, couldn't get a good look. Is there a decoding list for those markings? :)

Near the old cab/FTTC location, a manhole is marked with RIB 05?

As iioklo siad the map was updated earlier today. It was something of a disappointment with only three areas given due dates, all the 31st of May:

    Donegal | Fintown
    Mayo | Murrisk
    Wexford | Fethard On Sea

The spreadsheet has been updated with the revised numbers. As of today the total (excluding urban-rural) is: 34620 (32.56%).

    Thanks as usual.

A 12,000 increase since 6th April (your last update) is quite good.

Would it be a good idea to keep track of the numbers by date, so we can clearly see the rate of increase per week/month?

Oldtown and Ballyboughal in North county Dublin have been moved from Spring/Summer to Summer/Autumn 2017. Not a good sign. Moved from one 6 month window to another one three months further out. What you want to see in a project like this is initially broad estimates, narrowing and getting more specific. You would have very little confidence in a shifting plan like this :(

RIB 05 would be RIB exchange Cab 5 by normal convention, but theres no RIB exchange that I know of.

Are you on the R180 in Monaghan? Then it would be R180, Main Cable 5, Drop L.

Nop, off the R125 to the west of Swords.
    What's a RIB exchange?

The map says Riverstown is already live for 40 premises.

12000 was good progress, however the fact that there are only three areas listed for the next month is worrying plus plodder stating that areas are being pushed back again.

I'll look into tracking by date.

Also the alternative map has been updated.

Yep for a planned total of 1030, so I can only presume it's going in stages. Who knows, it could move faster.....!

RIB 05 stands for ribbon 05. A ribbon is the area which is being served from an exchange for fibre, so this is the fifth area to be served for fibre from this particular exchange. A ribbon is also called a supercell.

    Hi irishkopite 2011

We were discussing how splitters might be allocated on the rollout on the previous pages, can you give us any insight into this?

There still both Spring/summer on the map not sure we're you got that info from.

Batterstown (near Dunshaughlin) seems to be live according to the map altho no number of premises listed. Was previously Spring/Summer 2017.

Robinstown (near Navan) seems to be also live. Was previously a dark green in development dot with Spring/Summer 2018. Also with no number of premises passed.

Could be mistakes in the update?

Bunratty, Co Clare has a go live date of May 10th - I assume for FTTC though.
Will they count towards the 300,000 if they are getting above the 30mbs?

Yeah probably didn't make it clear in the earlier post as you wouldn't be familiar with the route. But the route I'm talking about is high density and the only reason it's on the FTTH map is because none of the houses on that route can avail of VDSL, and they are connected directly to this exchange.

I'm not talking about VDSL - that went live a couple of years ago on that exchange.

Annacotty Limerick pushed out from summer to autumn 2017.
Wonder can somebody get a list of the pushed outs easily?
Would be good to keep track of that per update.
