Have to say the staff are really helpful when you do get through. I cancelled 3 contracts yesterday, moving 1 to sim-only and cancelling the other two iphone contracts completely (moving those to Virgin). Got the emails less than 3 hours later saying the iPhones are ready to be unlocked.

Why is it with me but I always get the run around. I forgot to ask about unlocking the phone when I rang to get out of the contract so I applied using the online form to be told that the imei doesn't match the account?? I had dropped back to SIM only but as soon as I get this phone unlocked I'm gone from this shower of crooks. This is the second phone they've tried this sham with me. I only got sorted because I'm on boards and got comreg involved.

I did the same as you but I was told when my 30 days is up on the 7th of April I need to get a payg SIM from Three and port my number to that and only then can I join another network.
    Does this sound right?

I've been using this deal for a few days and so far its been great. I have seen speed increases, as my previous post a few pages back shows, which is interesting seeing as Virgin use the three network as a base. I also seem to have better signal quality everywhere nearly. Also just saw a boards thread where the virgin rep confirmed that tethering is allowed! Happy out.

I was told the same thing just now on live chat,to be fair the customer service rep was brilliant and did try to throw a few incentives at me to stay but had no problem cancelling my contract once I declined

Apologies if asked & answered (lengthy thread)

I want to call Three today to cancel my contact and get the phone unlocked for use with Vodafone. How long will I be waiting for the phone to be unlocked? I want to switch to Vodafone today but the phone from Three is locked to them. Thanks!

Did anybody on an old O2 legacy plan get a letter informing them of a price rise I wonder?

Link is currently broken, but if it's the Virgin mobile deal for TV/BB customers, I think the catch is that signing up for the mobile deal also extends your existing TV/BB contract for the duration of the mobile contract.

At least that was the catch when they launched it. That may not bother most people, but didn't suit me.

[edit: Ignore me, that's no longer the case!]

Nah that was only for the first few offers, not a thing any more. Confirmed on Twitter, Virgin chat and their boards thread on here :P

trying to call three now and cancel an account - the hold music sounds like 300 cows jumping up and down in a trailer down a bumpy road ... and they are making me listen to this sh1t for 10 minutes average hold time... wonderful.

Called in to CW to see what deals they had, told me Virgin was for TV/BB customers only, checked the Virgin site and that's not the case.Decent value for a sim only plan.

Cancelled my €55 a month contract last night on Live Chat in favour of the rolling contract so saving €30 a month. I also received my unlock code by email this morning. Rep did try to offer me 2 months free line rental but once I made it clear I wasn't interested it was all straightforward, thanks OP :)

i got through to them and they said if you switched to them before the changeover to Three your bill wont be effected, its only for people who joined recently after the changeover to three
